Hodges Wants Permanent Aviation Brigade in Europe

As the debate over rotational versus permanent combat brigades in Europe rages, the commander of U.S. Army Europe says he likes the rotational schedule just fine—with one exception.
“I would prefer an aviation brigade that lived in Europe versus rotational,” said Lt. Gen. Ben Hodges, citing the advantages of both a permanent aviation brigade and a rotational ground force, each a powerful deterrent.
