Eating fish may reduce arthritis symptoms

In a recent study, individuals with rheumatoid arthritis who consumed fish ?2 times/week had lower disease activity (swollen/tender joint counts along with other assessments) than those who ate fish never to <1/month. There was also a graded association, so that increasing servings of fish were linked with incrementally lower levels of disease activity.

May not be so for gout, which is a form of arthritis. Seafood has a significant amount of purines, which increase uric acid levels in the body, which in turn, causes gout to flare up. 

When I was diagnosed, I was given the gout diet to follow.  If I avoided everything on the list of forbidden food, I wouldn't have anything  to eat.  Nearly every food has purines.
