Yeah, like the gneiss I looked at this weekend in Maryland -- referred to as ultramafite, yet it has abundant felsic banding.  I'd like to have someone tell me how it qualifies as ultramafite!

It depends on the Feldspars. If the Feldspars are Anorthite, they are way up Bowen's Reaction Series, and though they may be feldspars, are considered Mafic. The Plagioclase Feldspars form a continuous series from the most mafic (Ca rich) to the more intermediate (Na rich), with the Orthoclase Feldspars at the lowest temperatures and considered to be the granitic end of the spectrum.

If felspathoids are present, there is low silica in the mix, and that may indicate a more mafic source, too.

She spent her young adulthood listening to people around her savage Bush and Giuliani, back in the days her father was a registered Democrat.  Couldn't be too shocking there's a backlash for putting on the R label, no matter how convenient or insincere.

I know articulation and "bright" are not totally correlateable.  But being at a high level in Trump empire, plus being 35 years old, I am willing to give her the benefit of the doubt.  Was she totally obtuse to anger and rage during the election?  Or thinking it would end after the election?

I think she is feigning shock and disbelief.

She would have to be faking it....since she's supposed to be fairly intelligent.... but if she never noticed how virulent politics is and can be....even before dear old dad ran for office.... she's really not very bright.  Perhaps she is just being willingly obtuse.

It's scary to read this because it's like you're in my head! It was almost exactly the rant I was having in my kitchen earlier this afternoon. My dogs got an earful of my irritation at Ivanka's calculated attempt to curry sympathy for the victimhood the Trumps are experiencing.

I didn't see the interview, but let me guess... The F&F host(s) fawned as she spoke, right? Has anyone on FNC pointed out that her father was the personification of viciousness over the course of his campaign? This is not a rhetorical question. I truly want to know if anyone countered her protestations by comparing the behavior of the jackals in D.C. with that of her father.

So true. And isn't it nice that folks who find this board particularly vicious will always have a safe space to run to where dissenting opinions never fall on tender ears. Contrary to the opinion of some, the right has snowflakes equally as delicate as those on the left.
