Romney urges Trump to support Paris climate deal
The Hill, May 31, 2017

2012 Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney on Wednesday expressed his support for the U.S. to remain in the Paris climate accord, arguing it was an opportunity to remain a leader on the world stage.

“Affirmation of the Paris Agreement is not only about the climate: It is also about America being the global leader,” Romney tweeted.

Romney’s tweet comes after reports surfaced Wednesday that President Trump would pull out of the 195-nation deal negotiated under former President Barack Obama  in 2015.

Pulling out of the agreement would be a dramatic reversal from the Obama administration’s stance on the deal.

As if we needed more proof the GOP's loud opposition to Obama was all an act.

I wonder what kinda of promises these foreign countries have made to Romney, et al that make them so eager to give away US taxpayers' hard earned money.

If Trump does the morally correct thing and backs the US out of the deal I really hope he states his case clearly and unequivocally, because I cant find a single major media source reporting this story that is willing to give the argument against the treaty.

Okay, this kind of stupidity and conformity may be one reason he was defeated by Obama.

IMHO, @Emjay he was defeated for the same reason Trump was 'Almost' defeated, Conservatives refuse to compromise and vote for NE Liberals.

And we never will.  Never again.

I've repented of that sin and have no regrets.  Romney was my Cassus Belli to dump the GOP and go third party.

Heard on radio, the cost to the US is $100 billion annually, to remain in this deal.

This is a transfer to the "developing world," in exchange for nothing but feel good.

Maybe the US will "lead" a few other developed countries out of this type of costly, wasted resources.

If we put the $100 Billion into weapons, they'll be a lot safer.

Romney urges Trump to support Paris climate deal

Of course he does.    This is why he lost the election.   Out of touch with reality and out of touch with his constituency.

Er, yes.  And that enables us to feel virtuous while Barack Obama and (almost Hillary) dominate the country for 8 to 12 years.

FYI a cost of $100 billion per year to America, is over $300 per person, and over $1,000 per family.

His speech is VERY good !! (Unless of course you like transferring $1,000+ plus from your family budget, to India in order for them to utilize coal, but not us).

Er, yes.  And that enables us to feel virtuous while Barack Obama and (almost Hillary) dominate the country for 8 to 12 years.

As opposed to the Republicans being in control of the House, Senate and the presidency and STILL cannot repeal the Obama agenda. but rather strengthens and funds it while taking ownership of it?

Makes that vain attempt at shaming those who vote principles first over fear of Hillary and Obama, null and void.

Not so much. But it did enable us to see just what a sham the GOP resistance to Obama (and Hillary) was.

If it helps, I didn't vote for that idiot Romney either. Last 3 elections I have wrote someone else in. Alan Keyes, Roy Moore, and Ted Cruz.

I met Alan Keyes here in ND, heard him speak, shook his hand, and genuinely liked what the man had to say. He is knowledgeable when it comes to what Government should and should not be doing. It's a shame he didn't beat Obama for the Senate seat. The nation would have been better off.
