VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - The Vatican, which under Pope Francis' insistence has strongly backed the Paris climate change deal, would see a U.S. exit as a slap in the face and a "disaster for everyone," a senior official said on Thursday.

At their meeting last month, the pope gave U.S. President Donald Trump a signed copy of his 2015 encyclical letter that called for protecting the environment from the effects of climate change and backed scientific evidence that it is caused by human activity.

Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin urged Trump in a separate meeting not to quit the Paris accord.

They're required to turn the other cheek, you know.

But seriously, the Vatican could use a good cattle stampede any day now.

The Vatican needs to get used to it if it wants to expand its influence beyond matters of the soul.

True. If the Pope wants the meddle in the political affairs of foreign nations, including nations which are not primarily Catholic, then he has to expect to be treated as a 'politician', and not a Pope. International climate treaties are not within the purview of the papacy. Not by any definition that I am aware of.

Pope Francis is changing the title of Pope from one of religious leadership, into just another political office.

Popes blowing smoke.  I'm waiting for the potassium chlorate, lactose and a pine resin version that makes it white.

Am I allowed to say that today's Vatican--under the new Pope--is either crooked or stupid or both?  I think I will just have to post this response to the article and see what happens.

The AGW alarmists are unscrupulously unscientific.  This is easily seen in things like the fact that the alarmists talk about methane from cow farts and the need for all of us to eat less beef to save the planet.  My goodness, the alarmists blame everything on anthropogenic global warming.  This even includes the rise of ISIS.  In other words, the alarmists are trying to cool us down by recruiting stupid snowflakes.

Moreover, the science behind the CO2 alarmism has been thoroughly discredited.  The global temperature increases seen in the 20th Century can be readily correlated with well-documented astrophysical mechanisms involving the increased sun spot activity seen in the past century.  (Furthermore, the increased CO2 in the atmosphere seen during that warming trend was quite evidently the result of the ocean warming [Henry’s Law], not the cause thereof.)  Worst of all, perhaps, the data sets claiming that the earth has continued to warm even after the sunspot activity fell off around the end of the 20th Century are the result of preposterous cherry-picking--a cherry-picking that involves possibly criminal fraud by global socialists to push through the Paris Accord.

The whole mess really is a UN-based conspiracy to hurt our first-world economies and redistribute our wealth.  I suspect that the elitists in key positions in Western governments and the MSM are for the most part knowing participants in the global fraud.  (Of course, the crooked intelligentsia does have a plethora of useful idiots.)

Today, I perused a brand-new post here on TBR that in my scientific opinion completely crushes the AGW snowflakes: http://www.gopbriefingroom.com/index.php/topic,265358.msg1343296.html#msg1343296

Anyway, it seems to me that the Vatican has gotten especially weird under the new Pope.  I have several Roman Catholic friends who are dismayed by the positions that the new Pope has taken in his homilies and in the media. Pardon me for saying so, but I don’t think Francis has any business heading up the world’s largest faction of the Professing Church.

Kudos to Trump if he pulls us completely out of the Paris Accord.

When did the hierarchy of the Roman Catholic Church become Gaia worshippers?
The libs/dems of today are the Quislings of former years. The cowards who would vote a fraud into office in exchange for handouts from the devil.
