Family of slain DNC staffer demands retractions from Fox News, local TV station

The family of Seth Rich, the Democratic National Committee staffer who was fatally shot last July, is demanding retractions from Fox News and WTTG-TV on Wednesday for their inaccurate reports on the unsolved murder, a spokesman for the family told CNN Wednesday.

"The family is officially asking for a retraction and an apology from Fox News and from the Fox 5 DC affiliate for inaccurate reporting and damaging the legacy of their son," spokesman Brad Bauman said.

This week, both Fox News and WTTG-TV published and aired reports, sourced to private investigator Rod Wheeler, that said evidence showed Rich had been in contact with Wikileaks before his death. Wheeler later told CNN he had no such evidence and that he had, in fact, only heard of some information attributed to him from a Fox News reporter with whom he spoke.

A FoxNews.com story on the case also cited a "federal source" who said the FBI had conducted a forensic analysis of Rich's computer and discovered thousands of emails with Wikileaks. But a law enforcement official told CNN that the FBI never had possession of Rich's laptop and did not conduct a forensic analysis of its contents.

Regarding the last point, the FBI doesn't need physical possession of the laptop to conduct a forensic analysis. Just a good network connection to it.

That's not saying it isn't fake (or as usually, the truth is somewhere in between what all sides say), just a point of dispute in the claim.

The guy, I can't remember his name right now, said that the family received a call from the guy at the DNC that was harassing Seth Rich prior to his death.  The caller demanded to know why they had hired an investigator.  The family called the investigator and explained the call and requested he stop investigating.  The investigator *could* be crazy and making this all up for notoriety, but he is good at it if that is the case because he appeared credible.

Families of those Hillary/Podesta wants silenced have had their legs broken and have also woke up dead back in the Clinton heyday.  If I was Seth Rich's family, I would be a tad nervous myself.  One does not mess with those folks and not become a daisy pusher for long.

It is clearly a coverup...unless Seth Rich had friends in the DNC.  Do rats have friends?
