President Trump dashed off two tweets Tuesday morning defending himself against an onslaught of criticism on the heels of a report that said he shared 'highly classified' information with the Russians.

'As President I wanted to share with Russia (at an openly scheduled W.H. meeting) which I have the absolute right to do, facts pertaining to terrorism and airline flight safety. Humanitarian reasons, plus I want Russia to greatly step up their fight against ISIS & terrorism,' Trump wrote.

Trump's tweets seemingly confirm what the Washington Post first reported Monday afternoon, and contradict a number of White House and Trump administration officials releasing statements questioning the validity of the story.

Leading the pack was Trump's National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster, who told a pack of reporters Monday night, 'The story that came out tonight is false.'

Stories pertaining to electronic devices and trans-Atlantic flights have been in the news for quite some time. There's no evidence in the story anything specifically classified was shared.   Until it becomes more clear, it's still an unnamed source and an unreliable news outlet.
I disagree.  Circle gets the square.

It's a pattern.  As I saw mentioned elsewhere, Trump demands his people lie for him, and then he contradicts them the next day.  They compromise their integrity for nothing.

How to lose credibility while posting:
1. Trump is never wrong.
2. Default to the most puerile emoticon you can find. This is especially useful when you can't win an argument on merits.
3. Be falsely ingratiating, completely but politely dismissive without talking to the points, and bring up Hillary whenever the conversation is really about conservatism.
4. When all else fails, remember rule #1 and #2. Emoticons are like the poor man's tweet!

I think the key words to focus on here are "shared highly classified information".  Trump admits that he shared info .... but he didn't say that he shared classified or highly classified info.  Big difference that apparently many here are only too eager to dismiss or ignore.  Playing into the radical left's agenda is not very bright, IMHO.

Did Trump state that he discussed classified information?

Seems to me these stories come from Trump or someone working for or with Trump. Trump seems to thrive on constantly being in the news.  It strokes his already massive ego.  This is a guy who became a household name through a reality TV show, and we know reality shows are phony. They all have some kind of manufactured drama in them just to keep them entertaining.  So Trump or someone close to him has to manufacture some kind of drama in a daily basis to keep himself in the limelight and the rest of us talking about him.  Our lives are being consumed by Trump and his constant drama.

Who would have thought that the presidency would become one big reality TV show.  And that show could run at least four years.

facts pertaining to terrorism and airline flight safety.
Possibly, but certainly not necessarily, the same thing as classified secrets.

Yeah. They're always serious until they're not.

That's the thing..I am not getting upset until there is more info on this story...anything that comes out of the WashPo is suspect at the very least.

@libertybele

What difference does it make?  As president he can declassify information as he sees fit.

If it is information that compromises a secure operation/operative, it can make a big difference.

Besides, they have zero credibility on this tissue. They never got this frantic over Clinton, Berger, Lahey, Abedein, and others we know for a fact divulged or were careless with classified information.

The bigger question is who is leaking all of this bad info about Trump?  It appears no one around him has any loyalty whatsoever.

I posted this in the other thread, but it's worth posting in here as well.  Here is the highly secret information Trump shared with the Russians:

https://twitter.com/RichardEngel

Now maybe it's just me, but this seems to be something that we've all known about for more than a month, regardless of whether or not it technically remained classified or not....

Yeah. They're always serious until they're not.

So, wee little Frankie, I guess this story is no longer just the evil NeverTrumpers lying to you poor innocent Trump supporters?

Trump and his staff really need to coordinate their lying. That would be the professional thing to do.
