Amarillo police chase down 11 illegal immigrants
 

The Amarillo Police Department, with assistance from the Department of Public Safety and Border Patrol, detained 11 people from Guatemala early Friday morning who were discovered to be part of an illegal smuggling operation, bringing people into the United States from Mexico.

Just after 2 a.m. Friday morning APD officers attempted to stop a 2010 Toyota minivan on a traffic violation near Interstate 40 and South Grand, when the driver refused to stop and continued to head east along the I-40 frontage road.
