Former Michigan Congressman Mike Rogers is reportedly under consideration to take the place of fired FBI Director James Comey.

According to a Bloomberg Politics report published Thursday morning, a White House official said Rogers is among the candidates being considered for the role by President Donald Trump, who announced Comey's firing earlier this week.

Bloomberg also reported Rogers is not the only candidate Trump is considering.

Rogers, a Republican, is from Livingston County and represented Michigan's 8th Congressional District from 2001 to 2015. Prior to that, he served in the state Legislature and as an FBI agent.

Too bad he was hot to shut down the Benghazi investigation.
