BallardBurgeon Sealy Jr., who shot dead a Delaware state trooper, was a “budding jihadist,” according to Delaware State Representative Steve Smyk.In an interview with a local radio station, Smyk also said, “We do know that, at the scene, during this standoff [with police] he was heard citing quotes from the Quran, what those quotes were I don’t know.”The state representative said reports of Sealy crying “Allahu akbar” remain unconfirmed.Sealy, 26, shot Corporal Stephen J. Ballard, 32, after the officer saw something suspicious about the vehicle Sealy and another passenger were in.Ballard approached the car and asked the two inside to exit. At that point, Sealy shot Ballard with a handgun he drew from his waistband. I think this happened a few months ago; but it affirms what was widely believed, an American radicalized by Islam did this.
