American media hiding socialism’s devastation of Venezuela

If you want a simple test to determine if a news source is in the fake news business, examine what it writes about Venezuela.  If it writes about the mass starvation, riots, and shortages with no mention of socialism's role in the disaster, then you know that it's fake news provider.

The fate of Venezuela, which has the largest oil reserves in the world, ought to be the final lesson conclusively proving that socialism is a delusion that impoverishes those it purports to help.  An entire nation is starving, unable to feed itself, generate enough electricity, or produce toilet paper.  In the midst of boundless opportunity, its economy is grinding to a halt because of socialism.

At Least 12 Die as Rioting Breaks Out in Venezuela

At least a dozen people were killed as the streets of Caracas, Venezuela, erupted into a night of riots, looting and clashes between government opponents and the National Guard late Thursday and early Friday, with anger from two days of pro-democracy demonstrations spilling into unrest in working-class and poor neighborhoods.

The attorney general’s office in Venezuela said 11 people had died of electrocution and gunshot wounds “in acts of violence” in El Valle, a neighborhood of mixed loyalties, where armored vehicles struggled to contain crowds of looters. In Petare, a working-class section in eastern Caracas, a protester was shot dead at the entrance to the city’s largest barrio, said Carlos Ocariz, the district mayor.

Last I heard they were running citizens down with the armored vehicles. That doesn't seem like a struggle.

Last I heard they were running citizens down with the armored vehicles. That doesn't seem like a struggle.

Example of what happens when the free stuff stops after spitting out the bones of the golden goose.....    It's not like this story hasn't happened before, and of course it will happen again.  Socialism  in every  case  never ends well.

The citizens had plenty of chances to prevent this way back even in the early days of Chavez.   Let them suffer the consequences.

That may very well be what the rest of the world says about Americans some day.  Have some compassion.  And know that.... not everyone voted for those consequences.  There are always innocent victims that are made to suffer along with and go down with any socialist ship.  Just as there will be here in the USA.

It isn't like there hasn't been a precedent of failing socialist economies.  It was the standard conceit of leftist thinkers and agitators that Latin and South American countries were poor only because of the evil, Yanqui capitalists who exploited the working classes in all the benighted countries south of the Rio Grande.
So after kicking out the evil gringoes in Cuba and Venezuela, their economies went down the drain, and the average person was far more impoverished than before. Meanwhile the Castros and the Chavezs became billionaires.
The question is: how long does it take for some people to understand that socialist economies are guaranteed to destroy wealth and make things worse?
