Sen. Susan Collins declared Sunday the upper chamber would be "starting from scratch" on healthcare legislation after the House narrowly passed its own version of a bill to repeal and replace Obamacare.

In an interview with ABC News' "This Week," the Maine Republican said the Senate won't be rushed in their work.

"The Senate is starting from scratch," she said. "We're going to draft our own bill. And I'm convinced that we're going to take the time to do it right."

Does this mean they will take the time to read it before they pass anything?  If so, I am in favor.

  • WE are NOT ok!
By doing it right does she mean repealing the ACA and replacing it?
I Believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.  I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies.

Considering the source, the answer would be NO.

Who put this ZERO in charge of the senate version?

So?? This has been going on since the Constitution has been ratified. The House passes it's own bill.. The Senate passes it's own bill. The meet and reconcile and even Compromise (the Horror). The House and the Senate will pass the final version. Don't see the big the deal..

The Republicans have had control of both houses of Congress since January 2015. They've known that Trump was coming into office since November 2016. They literally had months before this and could have had a repeal bill on President Trump's desk the day after inauguration, but a few chicken-hearted pinheads decided they were going to draw this out as long as they could, and a few no-nevers want to deny that any bill is a repeal bill and use that as a lame excuse to vote no on everything and ensure we're stuck with this mandate forever.

I'm not happy to. but guess what, life isn't and I think we should learn that we never get what we want all of the time.

The implications of the worthless senator collins' comments are that she doesn't approve of the House bill, which the HFC almost unanimously supported while house 'moderates' voted with the democrats.

Its ridiculous to imagine that what she has in mind will please conservatives any more than the house version.
