Oh I don't know about that. Look at the way "our side" went after Heidi Cruz for her depression. I even saw a suggestion on Twitter that "That Goldman Sachs whore should finish the job and off herself".

It wasn't that she was depressed - what gave the liberals reason to attack her, was, she was found on the side of a city street just sitting there on the ground and that prompted a peace officer to approach her to see what was wrong with her.  A report was made of that and the liberals used it to go after her as demented.

Until I saw people I once believed to be my friends happily cheering Noobs who threatened to deport me with "my illegal alien friends" for not supporting Trump, I couldn't understand how the German people turned on the Jews they had accepted only a few years before.

It was a shocking revelation, wasn't it.  How easily and how quickly those you previously thought of as your friends and as being "on the same side" as you could turn against you.....

and all due to the fact that your opinion of a candidate differed vastly.  Many of those same folks that attacked us are now having second thoughts and even voicing their concerns over at TOS.  Ironic, to say the least.

Actually, @Victoria33 late one evening Heidi Cruz was found sitting on the ground next to a highway.  The police officer feared she was going to take her own life by running into oncoming traffic.

I know I was thinking that I usually hear that claim out of the left or the alt right. I also had an image in my mind of the little cartoon showing a terrorist hiding behind women and children and Israeli soldiers protecting women and children.

Women and children as collateral damage does happen but its something that civilized people try to avoid.

I was there the same amount of time.  The day JR "zotted" numerous old timers on a single thread, stunned me.  I was on that thread and watched him zot all those people.  That was it for me.  I posted I wouldn't post on political threads again and then Onyx went after me with false accusations, so I sent her and Jim a personal message about that and left.  That was the beginning of the carnage and it is still happening.  It is Jim's site and he can do what he wants but I don't have to be there and contributing money.

Several years ago, I read the Jerusalem Post every day.  Israel has a practice that goes back years.  When a terrorist strikes, if his house is within Israel, it is torn down.  That means the family has no place to live.  It is a deterrent - the attacker knows his house will be gone and the family out on the street and no one will help them.

One of the very few times my grandfather's war stories weren't some sort of humorous anecdotes. It was when he gave a speech at the church about becoming a true Christian vs the nominal Christian he had been for the first 18 years of his life.

He spoke of moving forward as radio man with his artillery battalion and encountering the bodies of young German, Belgian, Polish boys wearing German uniforms. It dawned on him that the coordinates he had been shouting out to his gun crew were targeting those children. He considered himself lucky compared to guys right on the front line looking through rifle sights and seeing the children they were shooting. He said those guys had real trouble coping with it despite the fact that those kids had been shooting back.

It's definitely a dilemma as a Christian when you are ordered to or are forced to fire upon kids, even if the kids have a bomb strapped on or are shooting at you.  That's part of that whole "cross to bear" aspect, I guess.  And in war time scenarios, I truly believe that judgment is not as harshly imposed upon those that had to target kids despite their Christian faith.
