Not only do they not want to cooperate, they want to create a bigger monster than Obamacare ever was because ever single one of those grease ball Senators are making money hand over fist running health care.

I got $100 we will have Single payer by the end of the year.

Um.... would that be the same kind of 'single payer' that Trump has previously (before deciding to run as a Republican) gone on record saying he's in favor of?

So basically, the past months have been wasted because the Senate doesn't actually want to cooperate in drafting legislation.

Yes, basically the RINO's in the Senate have their own magic bag of tricks.

It's times like this that make one pine a pre 17th amendment senate again!

I've long considered the 17th amendment one of the worst mistakes for American governance.

Frank, you magnificent bastard. You hit the nail right on the head. We're on a collision course with single payer thanks to all "repealing" going on around here.
How to lose credibility while posting:
1. Trump is never wrong.
2. Default to the most puerile emoticon you can find. This is especially useful when you can't win an argument on merits.
3. Be falsely ingratiating, completely but politely dismissive without talking to the points, and bring up Hillary whenever the conversation is really about conservatism.
4. When all else fails, remember rule #1 and #2. Emoticons are like the poor man's tweet!

No,  the Senate bill will build on the House bill.

That makes two of us!  That and the federal reserve act! Hard to tell which is worse.

Jazz ... we're talking Collins and Cronyn leading the way.  They won't build on it, they are going to tear it down and put their liberal spin on it along with Schumer and the rest of his gang.

At least Donny has the balls to come right out and say what he wants. The worthless GOP calls for repeal and replace, but when you add up all the pieces to replace you have single payer.

While you have been distracted with your irrational rage towards Trump over the last couple years, you have been missing the corrupt shit show the GOP has been performing behind the scenes to destroy the country.

You mean.... he had the balls to say what he wanted BEFORE he decided to run as a Republican.  Since then re: single payer..... not so much.

As for my ""irrational rage towards Trump over the last couple years"".... WTF are you bleating about?  I was for Ted Cruz in the primary and only began to dislike Trump during the primary last year due to his liberal/leftie-like tactics (dirty politics) of going after Cruz AND HIS FAMILY.   You really, really don't know what the 'f' you're talking about here.

I've been thinking the same thing.  Sad, but true.

Cornyn is also a big red flag for me, I try to be optimistic but when it comes to this, Legislated Healthcare, I oftentimes think the situation is hopeless

Charles Krauthammer was on with Tucker Carlson and it was kinda depressing.  He was totally in favor of the health care bill being passed but he said this.

Although Obamacare was a colossal failure, it managed to change the mindset of American people to the point that  he thinks most people now feel the government should manage to provide health care for everyone.

I am still reeling from the ignorance and negativity on this board about passing the current bill.

Some of the people listed totally unrealistic expectations for a bill and nobody (much) believed in taking a bill that would help a lot but not give them everything they want.

I just want someone to wake me when it's over.  It's a complicated situation made worse by stubborn people without any conception of compromise.  Compromise is not losing ... it's getting something but not everything.

Fortunately, it is so late now on the mainland that nobody will call me an ass for at least 12 more hours.

We'll just have to wait and see what emerges.   One thing's clear - any bill will be the product of a center-right coalition.   Same as the House bill - it's the House's version of the most conservative legislation that centrists could accept.

I'm excited to see what the Senate comes up with.

Bear in mind it was the Senate that wrote Obamacare in the first place.  I will never vote for another Republican again.

I've already emailed my state rep, asking him to primary Kenny Marchant next year. KM's been a real disappointment, and his local staff is in their own bubble...i.e. they have no answers when we call in to question his latest vote.

How about a rewrite that goes like this - ObamaCare is repealed.

Three words, then leave it alone.  Yes, this is pie in the sky dreaming because a politician never lived who was able to keep things short and sweet.  It would require foresight, trust in the American way, and not giving a damn if you get re-elected or not.  As I said, pie in the sky.

Just remember Justice Roberts' ruling on ObamaCare.  He stated in a nutshell, "ObamaCare is a tax and Congress has the power to tax".  OK, repeal the tax.

I think Krauthammer is full of CA CA on this issue!  But a LOT will depend on the final product the republicans deliver!

The article just said they're starting from scratch and not using the House bill.

The "article" can say whatever it wants regarding the matter.

@Jazzhead just said that it's 'Normal' for each chamber to write their own version, and once that's set, they mingle them to create the final bill/law.
