Shortage of properly sterilized instruments leads Brooke Army Medical Center to curtail surgeries

SAN ANTONIO — Commanders at the Army health system's flagship Brooke Army Medical Center have shut more than half of the San Antonio hospital's 28 operating rooms and curtailed elective surgeries because of a shortage of properly sterilized instruments.

FFS - it's a manual wipe, autoclave, then a UV light. It CAN'T get any simpler to sterilize instruments.

So why they screwing up? More importantly- WHO is screwing up? Is it done in house or is it some contractor?

Yes, very strange.  And BAMC has been a good facility in the past.  Wonder what is happening.
