Hannity denies he's leaving Fox News

With the ouster of his friend Bill Shine, Hannity could invoke a clause in his contract to leave the network.

With Bill Shine out as co-president of Fox News, all eyes have now turned to Sean Hannity, one of the last stars standing from the network’s blockbuster prime time line up.

Monday night, Hannity tweeted out an article denying reports that he was negotiating his exit.

But many Fox insiders said the network remains awash with speculation about Hannity’s future in the wake of Shine’s resignation on Monday. Hannity and Shine have a decades-long friendship and working relationship. Hannity helped bring Shine to Fox News in 1996, and Shine served as Hannity’s producer. Last week Hannity warned on Twitter that if Shine left Fox, "that's the total end of the [Fox News Channel] as we know it.”

Now, with Shine ousted in a move that many saw as a precursor for a wider housecleaning, Fox insiders are worried that Hannity’s departure could follow those of Bill O’Reilly, the network’s highest-rated host, and former stars Megyn Kelly and Greta Van Susteren.
