@TomSea

The photo came up in my cheezeburger daily photos. It matched my mood. I pretty much loved this band during a certain time of my life when I was younger and smarter than I am now. :)

Thank you for posting. I miss the bands from the mid to late 70s , 80s and some stuff from the 90s.

This one was a big hit back when I was a junior league JD. Used to see the Zodiacs playing live all the time.

Used to see Louis Prima and Keely Smith on the old Ed Sullivan Show all the time back when I was a kid.

And below is a hit from EasyAce's teenybopper days.   @EasyAce

We did Benny Goodman in jazz band back in HS! I remember that song!

@Freya

That's a song almost impossible to admit. You hear the first few seconds and you instantly know what it is.

I've looked this song up, it's from the '80s; I think some of us are pursuing our hobbies in some of the songs we might post. But all songs are welcome. I've even heard some Chinese Buddhist music I really liked but couldn't find the songs from a CD I have.

The Angels have a version of Java, they came up the other day in discussion.   Java by Al Hirt is posted above.

Looks like Little Caesar and the Romans and Little Anthony and the Imperials did this song.

Little Caesar was LA doo wop.

Thanks, @TomSea! Had never heard The Angels do that...no great loss ;-) Of course, have heard the other one, countless times; Caesar et al had a top-10 hit with it in '61

Charlie Dore's "Pilot of the Airwaves" is one of my favorite songs out there period and at any time.  It got some play back in the day.

Believe it or not,but this is the very first time I ever heard that song.

That's a nice story, I like "The End of the Line" by Bryan Ferry, Roxy Music.  All of these videos seem to be taking a lot of power but that is a good one if anyone is interested.

@TomSea
I was a little surprised that they didn't have "End of the Line" in the set list when I saw them at that concert.

But they did have this . . .

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0UvZIZLUTo

. . . though in the version they played at the concert I saw, Phil Manzanera's guitar solo morphed into a kind of
Pink Floydian excursion into ethereal sound blocking and a comparable solo from saxophonist Andy Mackay, before
it finally morphed into "For Your Pleasure." I wish they'd recorded that one, it was breathtaking.

Andy Mackay, by the way, made a terrific solo album in the mid-1970s, In Search of Eddie Riff . . .

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eyC18keU7LI

Mackay cut a version of this song on that album and played it live with Roxy on that '76 tour . . .

They took this from one of those old Westerns, '30s, '40s; nice song too though I forget which movie or who starred; the below is just an example of that genre.

Quote
There's a family Bible on the table
Its pages worn and hard to read
But the family Bible on the table
Will ever be my key to memories

At the end of day when work was over
And when the evening meal was done
Dad would read to us from the family Bible
And we'd count our many blessings one by one

I can see us sittin' round the table
When from the family Bible dad would read
And I can hear my mother softly singing
Rock of ages, rock of ages cleft for me

Now this old world of ours is filled with trouble
This old world would also better be
If we'd found more Bibles on the tables
And mothers singing, rock of ages cleft for me

I can see us sittin' round the table
When from the family Bible dad would read
And I can hear my mother softly singing
Rock of ages, rock of ages cleft for me
Rock of ages, rock of ages cleft for me

If this cut is any indication, a) I want this album, and b) it stands a great chance of being the best blues album of the year:
