Its unseemly to make the president cry.
What is a Hasan minhaj?
Really dude? Donny doesn't cry. He generally unleashes hell on his advisories.
What are "advisories"?
Whatever. I'm still drunk from last night.
Since Trump decided he didn't want to attend, I think he should be fair game.
As soon as you are told not to mock, parody, satirize, criticize, or challenge a leader, that is the exact time that it is the most important to do it.
@AbaraXas This "emperor has no clothes" so it's really easy to mock him. My guess is they will ignore him and make the giving of their scholarships the crux of the dinner.
Or ... the correspondents can return to the true purpose of the dinner which is a scholarship benefit for gifted students in college journalism programs. This is what the dinner is supposed to be all about .... not trashing a President they disagree with. But I'm sure you knew this @Applewood
Past presidents were roasted at these events and they lived to tell about it. I believe President Bush (43) attended these dinners and the media hated him. I don't recall him throwing a tantrum or whining "I'm not going. They will be mean to me."Didn't we have enough of the press treating Obama with kid gloves? If Trump had any class at all, he would go, enjoy himself and maybe get in a few barbs in return. But since he won't, let the attendees yuck it up at his expense.
Roast the sucker.
