should Republicans primary Trump in 2020?
« on: April 27, 2017, 03:30:39 am »
Trump is walking back on a load of promises (repealing DACA, NAFTA, the Border wall etc). No doubt thanks to getting his main influence now from NY liberals Ivanka Trump and her husband.

obviously that doesn't mean Trump voters will vote Democrat but I wonder if Trump keeps doing this if he should be primaried in 2020.

Well, if we are 16 months out of the election and Donny is in rough shape, I can see a Carter Kennedy '80 scenario breaking out quite easily.

It's far too early to ask the question.  And if the 'Rats put up someone who had a modicum of Old Left sensibilities of supporting the working classe, instead of continuing to go with the New Left's identity politics for everyone but white men and Christians, they could pull in disaffected Trump voters.  It's not clear they have anyone on their bench that could pull that off credibly, unless Bernie Sanders -- the socialist from the oldest Constitutional carry state -- is still game to run.
And when they behead your own people in the wars which are to come, then you will know what this was all about.

I think I'll  wait until a little closer to 2020 to voice an opinion. Who would the Pubs trot out? It's kinda scary thinking about it/  :thud:

If Trump fails to deliver on the wall (he still has some time) and the new and improved Bammycare becomes a nightmare because he failed to truly repeal and replace; it will cost him his re-election and I look for him to be challenged in 2020 by someone like Cruz or Meadows.

Romans 12:16-21

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
