Yep they can all choose their sides but I can guarantee I won't be on theirs. Those who rub themselves raw with excitement for a new civil war and their assured glorious victory are headed for disappointment. The Aryan guys are scumbags.  But the truth is that the conservative rally was already scheduled -- with a permit -- when those leftists called for a rally at the exact same location.  Their claim that they were just engaging in "free speech and assembly" is a flat-out joke.  That was not their intention from the start.  They went their for the purpose of triggering violence, and to prevent conservatives from speaking.

I have no sympathy for their cause anymore - because that dick and all the apologetics for his actions destroyed any feelings of solidarity I had for the Trump people.

That can be a very difficult lesson to learn (speaking from personal experience).  I've also found that it's very tempting to un-learn the lesson.

Over time I've come up with a rough rule of thumb for judging things like this: how much do I need to overlook in order to make excuses for somebody's bad behavior?  (My own bad behavior included.)

Absolutely disgusting.  Pisses me off that any so-called 'man' would punch a woman in the face like that.  I don't care how disgusting she is.

He came at her, she did not advance on him.  Several of them charged and he was one who decided she was his target.   Even if the woman did advance on him, it's not difficult to restrain and use arm locks to force her to ground.  Punching her in the face is assault and battery plain and simple. That kind of cowardice eradicates any sympathy I might have had for their cause.

A few things to think about, concerning this incident.

1.  The rally was set up by the Proud Boys.  “The Proud Boys are a fraternal organization founded on a system of beliefs and values of minimal government, maximum freedom, anti-political correctness, anti-racial guilt, pro-gun rights, anti-Drug War, closed borders, anti-masturbation, venerating entrepreneurs, venerating housewives, and reinstating a spirit of Western chauvinism during an age of globalism and multiculturalism.”

I'm not generally one for seeing code-words, but that sure looks to me like a cover for a white-supremacist world view.  The Identity Evropa presence at the rally makes sense.

2.  There was no permit applied for or issued for this rally.  As such, a suitable police presence was less likely.

3.  The rally was organized on-line, and it does seem to have drawn a fair number of thugs on the supposedly "pro-Trump" side.

4.  The choice of venue seems to reflect a desire for opposition presence -- an incitement, if you will.

 No, you are dead wrong.  I was all for kicking the asses of those black-clad Antifadas that attacked them and hit Trump supporters in the back of the head with pipes and sticks from video showcased on Saturday.  Fighting back and defensing against such assaults is perfectly warranted.

That sentiment ended with video of that asshat punching that woman after charging her, and all the apologetics and justifications for what he did that have come since from the Trump faithful.

They have lost any claim of self defense or justification of their cause as a result.
