Regardless of who those guys were, people in this country should be able to assemble peacefully without having thugs use force to disrupt those political rallies.  If the cops aren't going to their rights, then I hope whoever it is defends it themselves.  And I'm okay if the guys willing to throw the punches aren't poster children themselves.

It looks to me like a lot of folks from both sides went to that park looking for a fight. 

We have been bullied for too long because our manners don't let us defend our rights.  The left has been silencing speakers with whom they disagree for literally decades, and it's about time somebody fought back.

By all means, let's dispense with our manners.  Civil discourse is for pansies.

He came at her, she did not advance on him.  Several of them charged and he was one who decided she was his target.   Even if the woman did advance on him, it's not difficult to restrain and use arm locks to force her to ground.  Punching her in the face is assault and battery plain and simple. That kind of cowardice eradicates any sympathy I might have had for their cause.

Now they are just thugs and bullies, just like the black-clad Communists they are street fighting.

The Trump supporters came out in regular street clothes. The Antifa folks came out in all black clothing, gloves, face mask, shields, most were wearing helmets of some sort. They came out looking for a fight.

I would agree with that.  The difference is that the one group was going there to defend a peaceful political assembly, and the other was going there to disrupt one.

I'm all for civil discourse.  But it takes two to have civil discourse -- it only takes one to start a fight. 

In all seriousness -- what exactly are you advocating?  That conservative groups should just accept having thugs get violent and disrupt their rallies, and not fight back?  Won't that just embolden the violent left to expand their opposition because they know it is successful?  I'm all for letting anyone hold their own rallies.  But street goons shutting down the rallies of political opponents...that's some really bad stuff.  And if those guys fighting back were going out and affirmatively disrupting leftist rallies, I'd say the exact same thing.

I'd also point out that it is things like this that will force law enforcement to do their job and keep groups like these separated.  But if nobody fights back, it'll just be leftists repeatedly shutting down anyone with whom they disagree.  And that's dangerous.

Yep they can all choose their sides but I can guarantee I won't be on theirs. The first thought that popped into my head when I saw the coverage, was that it looked like something from Munich in the mid-'20s.  Commies vs. Brownshirts.  One side takes a deliberately provocative action in hopes that the other will respond with violence. 

Turns out my first impression was correct: the Identity Evropa guys really do have brownshirt pretensions -- and they're led by the guy who hit that girl.  (We all know about the violent proclivities of the other side.)

I'm not going to waste any time defending the so-called "Trump supporters" involved in that mess.  If the only answer to leftist violence is to respond with Trumpist violence, then we've lost already.
