Going grey early increases heart attack risk

Going grey early means you are at an increased risk of suffering a heart attack, a new study shows.

Scientists have discovered that hair whitening can indicate an increased risk of damage to arteries supplying the heart with blood.

Some of the biological mechanisms driving coronary artery disease are also responsible for greying hair, they believe.

Aren't we fortunate in this country that liberals have made it possible for us to be something else, all we have to do is say it.  So if I don't want an increased chance of heart attack, all I have to do is say I don't want to be gray and - bam - there you have it. :silly:

So if you color your hair you're in the clear?

On my mother's side, everyone grays early, and they are all prone to heart disease.

Then on my dad's side, they all have or had thin hair or no hair.  Dad reportedly had a good head of hair, but when he went into the service, it was shaved off.  He kept the DI haircut for the rest of his life.  So who knows how much hair he really had?  Regardless --  Dad's family all has or had  coronary artery disease.  Dad himself died from a heart attack (his third).

So I guess it doesn't matter  -- gray hair or no hair -- I'm screwed.

This is interesting.  Osteoporosis is also related to early graying.

I am fortunate, at 52 I only have a grey hair or two on my head.
Now my beard is the exact opposite but I can shave that.

I started going gray when I was in my early 20s. No receding hairline, but I've been salted most of my life.

Snow on the roof ain't a problem.

It's when it gets round the furnace that you got a problem.  :tongue2:
