Nunes' actions were bizarre, getting info. and running to the White House, canceling meetings, etc., etc. Okay, read the report above so the committee is taken care of by others stepping in. Nunes behavior caused this.

The ethics charge makes Nunes himself part of the story and investigation. I'm confident he's still involved, just no longer the face and voice of the committee on this---and the move is temporary to address the bogus ethics charge.

I don't see it as Repubs backing down. The committee is still going. Nunes would still be there if he hadn't kept info. from the committee and gone to the White House with it, and canceled meetings. I'm not surprised it was taken to the ethics committee.
