During the campaign, Donald Trump promised he wouldn’t take a dollar of salary if he were elected. Once he won, he showed no signs of backing down from that promise as he prepared to transition into office. There was just one problem…. By law, the president of the United States is obligated to take a salary. Moreover, that salary can’t be changed while he is in office.
