White House unveils official portrait of Melania Trump

The White House has unveiled Melania Trump’s first official portrait as first lady.

The 46-year-old former professional model is seen striking an assertive pose in the photograph released Monday. Sporting a black ensemble with her arms crossed, Trump looks directly into the camera with a slight smile, a large ring on each of her hands.

I'm not so sure that this is my favorite picture of her, but nonetheless, it's a good picture of her.

She's a beautiful woman.   Of course most women would look very good with the very best clothes, makeup, and hair style.    I wonder if her being from Slovenia has any impact on why she's not staying in the White House.   Perhaps she couldn't get a clearance for some of what she would overhear living there.

Not to split hairs, but I don't believe she is actually in residence there quite yet.  (And I'm not complaining about that, either.   I think it is very reasonable to allow Barron to finish the school year uninterrupted.)

It's a lovely photo.  I really like that she has so far been very modest in her fashion choices, even though she could obviously pull off a more daring style if she chose.
