So much of what is wrong with American education and the onset of Snowflakes finds it's origin here.  In order to meet state and national testing standards, and the attending money attached to them, schools have structured their education for that purpose.  The tests have destroyed creativity, individual research, and interest replacing them with rote learning.  Kids are learning to think, they are learning to follow directed instructions and aren't able to problem solve their way out of a wet paper bag.  They have destroyed student confidence, interest in exploration, and ability to handle unanticipated problems, thus the Snowflakes.
