Ah, no, @Chosen Daughter --- we have no choice.

We do have a choice.  We could move to another country and pay taxes there.  Other than that the system has always existed.  I don't agree with many of the decisions the government makes on how to spend the money.  I have sat by and watched one amnesty after another because politicians like to hire cheap housekeepers.  I don't like that because the corporate world can afford Lobbyists to go and advocate for corporate welfare the little people get screwed.  It isn't just your money it is mine and every taxpayer.  Just because you don't agree with giving to humanitarian causes doesn't mean the majority of Americans don't.

These are even Christians who voted for Trump and spoke at his Inauguration.
AG William Barr: "I'm recused from that matter because one of the law firms that represented Epstein long ago was a firm that I subsequently joined for a period of time."

Alexander Acosta Labor Secretary resigned under pressure concerning his "sweetheart deal" with Jeffrey Epstein.  He was under consideration for AG after Sessions was removed, but was forced to resign instead.

Except for cuts to "Isreal". Those are OK with the Christian leaders.

Kinda funny how they think Jesus wanted the Government to help the poor.

@Chosen Daughter, I'm curious as to what you think about my argument about having to borrow what we send in aid:  http://www.gopbriefingroom.com/index.php/topic,254621.msg1264889.html#msg1264889?

The scripture does not say "I was in need, and you told Caesar to help me."

It says "I was in need, and YOU helped me." (I'm paraphrasing from Matthew here.)

We have to borrow the 1% because we are busy spending like crazy on other programs and welfare.  Welfare given to illegal aliens.  Welfare given to corporations who in turn do everything they can to put Americans out of work.

Our welfare system is breaking the bank not our humanitarian aid.  People sit on their butts collecting and doing drugs on the taxpayer and they can't even reform it.  Or be responsible with the money  by stopping the waste.

OK, thanks.  I don't find that a compelling argument.

It says "I was in need, and YOU helped me." (I'm paraphrasing from Matthew here.)

Also says:

Matthew 25

…41Then He will say to those on His left, ‘Depart from Me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42For I was hungry and you gave Me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave Me nothing to drink,  43I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, I was naked and you did not clothe Me, I was sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’…

The government is my money.  It is every Americans money but we don't decide how to spend our own money.  We vote for Representatives.  That is why the power of the pen is dangerous.  One person deciding for all of us where to spend our money.

One person cannot decide how to spend the money. Congress spends the money.

Disagree.  I think it is the business of the government to provide humanitarian aid.  It promotes peace and good will toward human beings.  It may not be about the Constitution but it certainly is about the government having human compassion for suffering.  Without it we are promoting isolation and a blind eye to starvation and homelessness throughout the world.  As a Christian I can't see our government turning a blind eye to suffering.

So, basically..... you are a big government socialist.

Good to know.

You can vote your way into socialism, but you have to shoot your way out of it.

I was thinking that Trump was going to close the programs without a vote.  Executive order.  I guess if Congress votes on it then there is nothing we can do.  We voted for our Representatives.

Republicans are big government socialists.  Just look how they ignored government abuses one election after another.  How long has welfare been abused?

We're "borrowing" to pay JUST the interest on the debt.

Well....I'm not a Republican.  So what's your point, other than deflection?

Did you or did you not vote for Trump?  He ran on the Republican ticket.   Trump is a big time Socialist.  His healthcare is big time Socialism.  I could look up the quote but he advocated for socialized medicine.  Said it may not be popular but he was going to cover everybody.  Everybody will be covered.

We are talking about 1% and Republicans and Conservatives have been allowing the bloated welfare programs to go year after year with no reform.  I vote Republican by the way but I am not happy with what I get.  I get Amnesty which causes Federal and local governments dearly.  I get people on welfare popping out kids and living with their drug addicted boyfriends that get them pregnant.  Free cell phones so they can call their drug dealers.

And we will see but I figure it will be the ones who don't want to work who get free healthcare.  The ones that exchange their government food stamps for drug money.

Just a general observation: bad behavior is not justified by other bad behavior.
