Maybe take a look at Section 215 of the Patriot Act.

This may have some relevance. Maybe not.

Nice bit of digging. I find the years interesting too - 2013/2014 for all three of them. You'd expect it to be more spaced out.

Some of us left left TOS and never care to go back or have any interest in what may be posted there. If you could post something like "from TOS" in the title it would be appreciated...

Sure, will do.

By Edward Snook
Investigative Reporter
David Hinkson

In early December, 2014, Independent News International published an article about Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Richard C. Tallman titled, “Veteran Falsely Convicted by a Lying Judge.” Overwhelmed with the factual veracity achieved in the article by its author, Investigative Journalist Pat Shannan (www.iniworldreport.com), the US~Observer carried the article nationwide.

I am not vouching for the facts of this case or the characters involved.

But a FISA judge with a history of withholding exculpatory (proof of innocence ) evidence!!!!

These are our protectors !!!?!!!

Really? @don-o

http://www.usobserver.com/archive/feb-15/9th-circuit-above-law.html

Judge Tallman personally controlled ‘Pretrial Services’ which had confiscated David’s Passport, upon his arrest. Thus, Judge Tallman had control of the Passport and only had to say the word for it to be be delivered to the courtroom. A truly neutral judicial official would have done so; but when asked to produce the Passport, Judge Tallman denied it saying: "It will only confuse the jury." Although subsequently requested from the government under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) neither the Passport nor a copy thereof was returned, according to Roland C. Hinkson, David’s father.

Judge Tallman could have presented the Passport to the jury, or allowed David to submit it as a part of the exculpatory evidence showing innocence, but he refused – causing the jury to be deceived rather than just possibly confused.

What motivated Judge Tallman to prohibit the jury from considering David’s Passport? Could it have been his desire to placate the Justice Department and thus win its support when eventually seeking higher office? These and other questions are being asked at the 9th Circuit, which has already broken the law by assigning only a two-judge panel (instead of three) to summarily deny David’s request for review under the Actual Innocence standard. On direct appeal the Ninth Circuit could, and did, ‘pot-shot’ David’s case, overruling the reversal in the Fletcher-Hug decision; but, now, under the Actual Innocence doctrine, the court has no choice, it must consider the "cumulative effect of all the evidence" not just one detail, as in the previous appeal. This doctrine will allow David to finally have his day in court, if the Ninth Circuit follows the law.

Well it is not appreciated. Guess I have done something to displease the mods around here. This thread has been moved to 'Editorial' where it is sure to die.

Meanwhile there are claims being made in 'politics' that the FISA court is republican.

So I have been trying to ask this question all day over the noise of Trump bashing.

How do we find out who the FISA court judges were, and how do we get redacted transcripts of the decisions?  Because you cant feign 'to protect the institution'.

Transcripts of what decision(s)?  It has yet to be shown that it happened.

I'm seeing lots of goofy claims floating around the net like Obama appointed most of the FISA judges. FISA judges are appointed by the Chief Justice of the supreme court who happens to have been conservative or republican for the entire time the FISA court has existed.

Still nothing beats the claim that the FISA court allowed the wiretapping of MLK who died 10 years before the court existed.

See the three bios above.  Myst posted the three current FISA judges that decide whether to wire tap or not.  All three have dem/liberal pedigrees, highlighted in red in their bios.

It is almost always politics.  Seems like as soon as a topic gets decent research, it gets sent to a low traffic backwater.

Shame, because it has the effect of lowering views and participation.

You did good. It isn't so much a backwater or that the topic doesn't deserve more discussion. It is the daily tidal wave of crap we deal with. THAT is the problem.

You can always come over to the Alternate Realities. Lots of space there.

Do you know anything about the megalithic builders?

Perhaps it is time to take another look about how this forum is laid our. All These categories for such a small number of actual users....

People start threads because they want discussion and it seems that lately one requirement here to get views is to post in "Politics".

How about doing away with that vague category, as well as "Current Events" and "World News"? Make a new one, perhaps "Current News Cycle" or "Current News"? Limit new topics in it to sources in the past 24 -48 hours. Allow both foreign and domestic news.

As far as "Editorial", fact is that ALL from cnnnbccbsabcnytwapopolitico etc belongs there. Still, I believe it is a good category that should remain. That should be for both analysis and opinion. I see a lot of both dumped into "Politics".

That was before his brain became consumed by the personality cult he embraced.

@CatherineofAragon

Like it or not, Trump received a lot of his votes because he forcefully argued against terrorism, open borders, national security and that he would actually do something about it; which so far, he is.
