Obamas To Make Over $60 Million From Book Deal

What took the Clintons years of confidential speeches before major investment banks and middle eastern clients of the Treasury Department, the Obama's plan to achieve with just two books.  According to the FT, several publishers are participating in a blockbuster auction for the global rights to two books by Barack and Michelle Obama where the bid has reached more than $60 million. The Obamas, who are writing separate books but selling the rights jointly, stand to make a record amount for their presidential memoirs.

Will there be $60 million in Gross Margin from Sales?  I doubt it. 

Bad ethics.   Structured too much like a bribe.  Obama should get a % of sales.

Well, that's good.  I was worried that now the two grifters could no longer plunder the Treasury to support their lavish lifestyle, they might starve to death.

Why would ANYBODY pay these two $60 million for two books?

The "payment" must be for ... something else.

Do the payers expect the obamas to eventually be back in power?

No way in Hades they'll pocket the full $60M. Wouldn't surprise me if they got half on signing, the remainder will be based on actual sales. Plenty of libraries and educational institutions that will buy boxes of the dreck.

Let's be honest. His book isn't going to do a fraction of the $60 million in sales. This is a backdoor payoff from the Lib establishment.

Yep. Even if there were ever enough copies in print to gross the payout, they'll just end up on the remainder table somewhere.  If the book ever gets printed and it's thick, it be one of those worth taking the rotozip to and hollowing out for a place to stash stuff...
