Caitlyn Jenner is speaking out against President Donald Trump’s decision to revoke federal guidelines protecting transgender students in public schools. The trans E! reality star, 67, who backed Trump in the election, published a series of videos and posts on social media on Thursday, February 23, slamming the former Apprentice host for backtracking on the promises he made.

“Well @realDonaldTrump, from one Republican to another, this is a disaster. You made a promise to protect the LGBTQ community. Call me,” Jenner tweeted.

In an Instagram video, the former Olympic athlete, who famously announced she was transitioning from Bruce to Caitlyn during an April 2015 interview with Diane Sawyer, expressed her disappointment in an Instagram video and urged transgender children and teens to not lose hope.

I have a message for the trans kids of America. You are winning. I know it doesn’t feel that way today or every day, but you _ are _ winning. You are going to keep on winning so much you’re going to get sick of winning. Very soon, we'll win full freedom nationwide, and it’s going to happen with bipartisan support. Ariana Grande, Ellen DeGeneres, Brie Larson, Lance Bass, Christina Applegate and many more celebs have also since expressed their disappointment in Trump for revoking the law, which allows transgender students to use the bathroom of their choice.

As previously reported, during his campaign, Trump stated that trans people should be able to use whichever bathroom they felt appropriate, but he changed his opinion after facing backlash from the Republican party. On Tuesday, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer told reporters that Trump believes the transgender protections are a “states’ rights issue and not one for the federal government.”

Former president Barack Obama issued the protection in May 2016, requiring public schools allow transgender students to use bathrooms and locker rooms matching their chosen gender identity. The move came under the federal law, known as Title IX, which bans sex discrimination in education.

Dear Bruce,  Let me ask you for some clarification.  Let's discuss each element represented by the LGBTQ acronym.

Do Lesbians have an overwhelming desire to use Men's rooms?  I sort of doubt it.
Do Gays (is that only men now?) have an overwhelming desire to use Women's rooms?  I find it doubtful.
How about Bi-sexuals?  Aren't they happy in either facility?  Why would it be "tragic" for them to use the room associated with their actual gender?
OK, there are Trans people.  I get that folks that have such mental issues would be confused by this issue.
Finally, Queers....doesn't that just mean "wierd?"  I don't even understand that word anymore.

So, where is the "huge tragedy" that merits your commentary, let alone merits federal government intrusion?

I read a few Hercule Poirot novels from the mid-1930s last week and had to laugh at the use of the words "gay" and "qu*er" (I don't think TBR's filter will let me use the word). They sure don't mean what they used to mean. I hate it when stupid people hijack my native language!

This latest Trump reversal should be making the nevertrumpers happy.... since they hated his original stance on transgender bathroom usage.  Now that he has made the logical (and right) choice.... all I hear is crickets.  #nevertrumpers?   Where is your fair assessment and unbiased comments on this?  Isn't this a good thing.... ie upholding states rights and therefore adhering to the US Constitution?  Anybody?

Maybe if you paid attention to something other than your own craven need to feel like a persecuted victim you might have noticed that some of us give credit where due and not where not due.  Sure, this is a good decision, but it's a relatively minor point and does not outweigh the damage his stupidities continue to inflict.

Why bother, you will never be happy until everyone marches in lockstep to what you think. If Trump does something great I will acknowledge it, as I will if he does something bad, but this only means( as I understand it) that there isn't Federal support for these policies and that really does nothing to stop it in liberal states.

Caitlyn Jenner, perhaps the most influential transgender activist in the country, joined a growing chorus of critics who have denounced President Trump’s decision to rescind protections that allowed transgender students to use the bathroom of their choice.

Ms. Jenner, an Olympic gold medalist and reality television star, delivered a blunt warning to Mr. Trump in a video posted on Twitter on Thursday. “This is a disaster,” she said, adding, “See you in court.”

That statement echoed the president’s declaration on Twitter after his travel ban on immigrants from certain nations was blocked by the courts.

Ms. Jenner’s rebuke raised the level of opposition, and not only because of her high profile. She is a lifelong Republican and an early supporter of Mr. Trump’s when he was still thought to be a long shot to win the party’s nomination.
