I'd never even heard of Evancho until she was slated to sing the national anthem at the inauguration and I had no idea she had a transgender sibling.  Bathroom protections?  Other than designating a third bathroom and separate locker rooms for LGTB's what else can be done?  Putting security personnel into the bathrooms and locker rooms? The cost would be ridiculous to have to add a third bathroom and then would stores, restaurants, gas stations, churches, post offices, hospitals, doctor's offices, concert halls, sports arenas, etc., have to incur the costs to facilitate such a small percentage of the population?

I realize Evancho has put President Trump on the spot and he really has no other choice but to meet with her (after all she sung at his inauguration) but I don't see this as going well at all.  I wonder if he knew at the time that she had a transgender sibling?

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

I don't see this going well at all. Hopefully he won't insult 'her'.  We witnessed the 'womens' ugly march in DC, I hoping this doesn't provoke an ugly LGTB march in DC.   **nononono*
Oh, I hope it does.

I hope they go wild and violent. I hope the alphabet soup lobby exposes itself as the subversive, manipulative, controlling power-brokers they really are, and that America finally, after a decade of delusion, wakes up to it.

Don't hold your breath.  I don't see the politically correct, leftist liberal mental midgets waking up to anything but perhaps a pot of coffee.

I say that because there's already been enough of a backlash against the left that Donald Trump (of all people) is President. So there is a breaking point.

My daughter claims this is the new fad to be cool.  When she was in high school, the cool thing was to be gay.  If one is the least bit troubled, one can claim to be whatever to stand out and be noticed.  A wallflower that "comes out" will suddenly become popular and accepted by the cool crowd.  I assume the next generation will be coming to school with "I heart my Dog" pins.

Your daughter is spot on.  In a desperate attempt to be different, teens wear identical clothes, have identical hairstyles and vocabularies.  If this doesn't work, be gay or at least troubled about your true identity.

I'd tell y'all to get a room but I'm enjoying your foreplay.
Oh geez...don't encourage @Wingnut ....lol

I saw Jackie Evancho and her BROTHER in drag on GMA the other morning.  He was dressed as a woman then of course began to speak as a man....don't they realize how stupid they look.  Obviously the kid has mental issues.

I hate for anyone to be abused, especially kids and young people but why did this happen?

Is her outward appearance that of a boy or a girl?

My nephew was a slight lad, very small and blond, and he went to high school right after Bryan Adams in Dallas was integrated.

My sister told me he did not go to the bathroom at school for four years.

I think the answer to this whole thing is far simpler and less political than we make it.
My son who is on the Autism Spectrum will not use any bathroom unless he has a private stall with a door. And he also will not undress in front of other boys at school, and IEP accommodations allow him to change in and out of his gym clothes in a private room. My point is being uncomfortable in a bathroom with others is not just a transgendered thing. And making one much larger group of people uncomfortable to appease a much smaller group is not the answer. Its dumb.

OK this my thoughts on how to solve this:

A.   I think it should be at the State level, that I agree with Trump 100%.

B.   Then it should be recommended that the States pass a law requiring schools and places of business with over a certain number of occupants to have available a lockable unisex bathroom.  Such as many businesses already have, and have had for years without any controversy. Show of hand if you used one.    Some even have Mothers Rooms and baby changing rooms as well.

C.   Require that one use the bathroom matching your equipment. Transgenders should go all the way with the operation if they really want to use the other bathroom. The exception to this requirement IF  (B.) above is not provided.

But.... that is probably only because the left is pushing 'being gay' as being cool.  In pretty much every show on tv there's at least one "cool gay couple".... even while the left portrays most white, heterosexual couples as either uncool or unhinged.  The reality is quite different.

My mother used to manage a downtown highrise in Dallas that had half a dozen gays as residents.  On Friday nights, even those few residents managed to, usually, turn the place into a zoo or asylum with their drama.   I thought it was funny as hell (then).  She didn't agree.

Back in the late 70's and early 80's Oak Cliff was a hotbed for Gays.  I remember staying at the Loews Anatole  and this guy picked me up and took me to some place over there.

Uhh....huh?  lol

Downtown Dallas was too.  I was married and living in Houston by then so I missed most of that 'transformation'.  Oak Cliff used to just be a middle-class area for families.  Oh how times change.

There was a hell of a fight..later.

I was standing out front at the Anatole waiting for a taxi to go to diner when this guy came up and started some small talk about nice restaurants and stuff. He had been in town a few days and said he knew a nice place and said we should share a cab and go there.  I laugh about it now but I was royally pissed off at myself for letting my guard down!

I lived in two places most of my life until I moved to Maui.  One place was Dallas and the other was apparently a state of cluelessness.

I knew there was a certain street where happy things happened and I knew one had to be careful on Greenville Ave.  but all that stuff was way out of my wheelhouse.

Don't do that.

I grew up in Oak Cliff and could walk to Sunset High School.  When we had our (deleted number) reunion, we were all shocked to find guards and metal detectors at the doors.

Good ideas.  A lot more people are shy than care to admit it.  It is especially hard for boys.
