Moore sounds certifiably insane. Just about everything on his list will only create more of the fed-up anger that put Trump in office.
Fomenting anger is a powerful optic, though.
I think of LBJ and I think of riots in the streets, (not just hippies, who actually were not much until later, but race riots). Despite knowing
who was rioting, the images are associated with the POTUS--just like the Vietnam "body count' up daily on the evening news, like a frigging scoreboard, and Walter F'n Cronkite 'announcing' that there was 'no way to win the war', even after the VC were virtually eliminated during Tet.
It is all about the optics, images stick, and the cameras are in Liberal hands while we're still doing radio. Notice, liberal radio is and has been a flop. Why? While Conservative stances can be articulated in a strictly verbal medium, mainly because they are logical, Liberal stances rely on pictures--not that they can't read, but pictures can be manipulated far beyond facts to create emotional, psychological, and visceral reactions to manipulate the thinking of the viewer. That is something they try to do with words to limited effect, but there is a limit to the number of times a word can be used, and the word is the focus of audio. Liberals repeating the same whine over and over don't go over well.
But in the background on TV, images which can paint a different picture, set a different tone, or produce a different reaction can be presented, Lighting and camera angles can be manipulated giving benevolent or malicious appearances, and this often goes consciously unnoticed by the viewer, the whole time they are subconsciously getting the message messing with their mind. So, even if presenting a program to feed and clothe the poor and give them air conditioned bus rides home to their native country with a day trip to Disneyland (all expenses paid), the images of bloodied children and crying widows and destroyed villages in the background will offset the verbal message. It isn't just an art any more, it's a science, and they are way ahead.
So, if they can create a mental image of Trump=chaos, that is what even angry conservatives will have, only
thinking conservatives will know whose fault it really is. Those who aren't paying attention will believe the hijacked images, the background window dressing, and not even know why--and those who have been in the bag for Trump wouldn't be affected by the Second Coming because they wouldn't want to hear it.
For both Parties, that up-and-coming herd of folks who just tuned in and have yet to develop the discretion needed to sort out what is media BS and what is reality will assume the BS
is reality (That is Moore's stock in trade, after all.), and like young voters in the '60s and '70s, will vote stupidly, but even more so, will adopt attitudes, worldviews, entire action/reaction patterns based not on rational and logical thought, but on manipulated belief and (believe it or not) a sense of nostalgia for the 'good old glory days' at Haight/Ashbury or Woodstock and a lust for one last fling. The distortions of their formative years will ever be a rallying point, or for the few who can admit the error of their ways, a sheepish memory.
We've seen this gambit before, and here we go again with a fresh crop of young minds that have been taught little the Left didn't want them to hear--all through school, don't know what kind of plumbing they have (or fully believe that someone can be legitimately confused about that), and think Islam is a love-fest, trying to sort through what they hear from the media (even though they may know it isn't right) and either getting completely turned off, or throwing down on the side of the poor downtrodden special interest groups (if not identifying as one), because youth often wants a fight, and it is the American Way to come in on the side of the victim, or at least those perceived to be victimized.
With a few pixels of worldview on a very large screen, they only 'know' what they have been programmed with, and the tactic is effective in manipulating them. It's what got the Leftists this far, and they always double down, even when something does not work. They are adamantly trying to control the number of (and image on) those pixels.
But let's go through Moore's list point by point:
:blank: The daily call to Congress.
Why aren't we doing that? If they do, the overwhelming amount of feedback the Congress gets will be from the Left. Primarily motivated by saving their phoney-baloney jobs, an overwhelming Conservative input on specific issues will have an effect, and counter the picture the Congress gets that only the Left believes, cares, or cares about how they vote.
If we aren't participating, they will, and the result is predictable, more often than not.
Do the same with State Reps/senators and other officials.
:blank: Visit their local offices and express your opinion when if you can, get known, be a familiar face, in a good way. Drop in to say thanks when you think they do right (of all feedback, that is the stuff they hear least, even when they do deserve it.
This is activism 101. Be there, be a presence, even if just a daily letter (preferably handwritten) or a call. Besides, if young minds are busy being activists for a cause, they are less likely to be spending their time actually learning about 'stuff' (which works against Liberals).
:blank: Phone/email/twitter activism trees (useful for getting people on the street, but also for an immediate phone/e-mail/twitter bombardment of elected officials and local media on an issue.
An alert network.
Not all the SJWs in the streets are Soros hires, and this gets the 'truebeliever/useful idiot' contingent out of the basement. It can be used to alert people to specific issues, who alert others, who alert their cells, on down the tree. This can get a lot of people speaking up on an issue in a little time, and that has impact. It puts the 'ass' in astroturf.
:blank: Add to the numbers of the various groups in support of your agenda by joining/signing up/and or getting on the email list. Make small donations if you can.
This gets more people from more and larger organizations to the microphone. Optics are better for groups who aren't the same two or three people who stood up for the last group. The bigger the group, the more they allegedly represent. (You may see the same names coming up time and again, as I have with State level environmental groups here, but with more names there's less crossover evident.)
:blank: Push a pet issue all the time (in his case, he pushes the women's march, which is open pandering, imho, but to a dominant Dem demographic).
Surely we conservatives have an issue or two we can push every day all day. Right to Life, RKBA, the border, etc. or a handful.
:blank: Take over the Party--in Moore's case, it's the Dems, although he touts Keith Ellison as the preferred new DNC chair--Muslim, Liberal, Community Organizer, and
"...a key backer of Bernie Sanders. He not only has Bernie’s support ―and mine―but he’s also backed by Chuck Schumer, Harry Reid, Gloria Steinem, John Lewis and many others".
The difference is that the Dems won't have to fight their own who have a common agenda. The GOPe will be another story. They'll bend like a fresh Twizzler, but they won't break or go away, they will retain the position even if devoid of actual power until the storm clears and they will still be running their show.
:blank: Push for regional control and "regions of resistance".
Political balkanization lets the dems consolidate gains and focus on taking more. We ignore that at our peril.
:blank: Run for office. Especially precinct chair. Take over from the grass roots up.
:blank: Become the media.
Letters, twitter, fecebook, whatever, but control the message with overwhelming input and imagery.
:blank: Use comedy against your enemies.
It's easier to get people to laugh with you than to be that 'pissed off person' all the time, and at least as effective at shaping worldviews, if not more so. (He goes on to say Trump writes their own material). However YMMV from his specific opinions, he's right on the basics.
What
@Sanguine has posted is the fundamental, ground level game plan, their tactics. Strategies have to be inferred, but these are the marching orders.
Conservatives could adopt many of these tactics (Taking over the DNC would be a plus) to good effect, and at least level the playing field as opposed to just getting impotently steamed or grumbling and waiting until the point where things get violent.
Thanks,
@Sanguine , great post.
