One thing my wife hates is the powdery, Chanel smelling type perfumes that smell like a grandmother. She likes not to strong flowery perfumes that smell natural. Would these fit the bill?

@AbaraXas, Flowerbomb would probably choke your wife half to death.  It did me, lol.  It's about the strongest, sweetest scent I've found.  Overpowering.

She might like Versense, though.  It's a fresher, cleaner scent, a little citrusy....nice for warm weather.  Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue might be another one.  My sister-in-law hates heavy, powdery scents, but she loves Light Blue.

I bought some of that "Our Impression Of" Drakka Noir in the close out bascart at Big Lots for $1.99.  Stuff was nasty.  Very strong.  Made me go back to buying English Leather.

That's so true.  Perfume and cologne are very personal and subjective, and what smells good on one person could smell totally different (and even objectionable) on another.  Try before you buy!

I will never forget the time I was sitting at a computer, and a new classmate of mine sat down next to me, and I felt this totally subconscious pull.  Something about how Halston (this was back in the 80s) combined with her body chemistry was like a magic potion, and my mind became totally irrational.  This is even before she turned to me and her eyes were the greenest I'd ever seen (I'm guessing they must have been tinted contacts...they had them then, right?!).

Scared me to death, the way the rational mind can be bypassed and require a great deal of willpower to overcome!

But others wore Halston around me without that effect at all.

I tried out some of those el cheapo CVS imitation perfumes.  Sprayed them on my wrist and, wow....found the husband a good gnat repellent.   ^-^

Anyway, it drove me absolutely crazy. I had a crush on him- but he was dating my friend from HS, and I worked with him in the writing lab. He wasn't my type. I liked his roommate actually. But the way he smelled- oh mama!

I've smelled it on other men, it was really popular in the mid 80s but it never smelled right on anyone else. But that's why I sat behind him in that class. While the prof who was boring and horrible was murdering Ferlinghetti, and other 50s poets, I was smelling happiness.
