Most of all, Mr. Trump is an agent of total disruption, bordering on chaos — everything American voters would like to see set upon Washington.

“No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public.”  ~ H. L. Mencken

When it comes to the media he has a point. It's about time somebody slapped them back.
“The way I see it, every time a man gets up in the morning he starts his life over. Sure, the bills are there to pay, and the job is there to do, but you don't have to stay in a pattern. You can always start over, saddle a fresh horse and take another trail.” ― Louis L'Amour

 :thud:

Some idiot on twitter quoted "From chaos comes order" at me this morning.

Well Nietzsche was an idiot and the order that arises from chaos is bad pretty much every single time.

But.... Übermensch!  Surely we need one of those.  Don't we?

Trump makes Mr. Thompson look presidential. John Galt would have had a field day with Twitter.  lol

OTOH, Francisco's message on the clock could be considered as the First Tweet!

Brother, you asked for it! Francisco Domingo Carlos Andres Sebastián d'Anconia

Yep, that's less than 140 characters.

Yeah, but it would have taken him all year to tweet that interminable speech.  And years of surgery and physical therapy for his thumbs, thereafter.

Try listening to the speech, far better than reading it. I know, it's 3 hours, but the last hour is inspiring when properly read. I've found a great audio book of AS, all 63 hours (great for long walks). The performer is able to give main characters a distinctive voice.

And the final conversation between James Taggart and Cherryl is absolutely bone chilling.

Yeah, well ....  I kinda gave up on Ayn Rand when I realized that her philosophy couldn't withstand the moral demands of parenthood.

From elementary through high school, one of my classmates was named, "Joseph Weldon Bailey Kennedy, Jr."  Because I was around him all those years, I never forgot his long name.
