Come on guys.   Even those that are die-hard Trump haters have to admit that he has the idiot left and pressholes running around squealing like stuck pigs.  And that's a GOOD thing.  Funny as hell, in fact.

Oh it was funny. I'm still laughing about Trump asking the black reporter if she could set up a meeting with the CBC. A real Michael Scott moment.

Effective? Not in the slightest.

The fact that they have de-legitimized themselves over the past decade or two is undeniable.  Let's at least celebrate that he has the left reeling.  JS....

Some of us are tired of the whining from you folks. Nit picking about the way he talks, tweets and the way he handles the press is a bore. Point to me the exact policies that Donny is enacting that are garbage. You said in an earlier post that the opposition here to him during the Primary, which I was part of, over him being a closet Lib. Now that the rubber has met the road, show me where he has done any of the things we thought he would do.

Not effective in what respect?  He effectively has the lamestream media running around yelping and chasing their tails (Rush likened it to using a laser light to make cats go nuts and run into walls...lol).  He effectively has everyone talking about how he one-upped the lying left media.  Offhand, I'd say that was a success, any way you cut it.  I remember only too well how I kept wishing that George Bush would 'fight back'.  He never did.  He wussed out on us just like his dad wussed out on us.  I don't see Trump wussing out.  And for all of his warts and flaws, I have to give him credit for that, at least.

You could not be any more wrong!  When Trump does something legitimately deserving of scorn I will be the leader of the pack. So far that hasn't happened. In fact, I have been greatly surprised by his performance thus far and hope that it continues!

We FINALLY have someone with the gonads to actually DO what we've been begging for and those who can't stand him personally can't get past their personal bias.  Can't see the forest for the trees!

Some of us see both the forest and the trees and while fully accepting the fact that he is President don't feel compelled to support him.

I'm just glad that mystery doesn't try to shame us into silence like some of the Trump faithful do.

I NEVER side with the left or the media, and never will. I haven't lost my
conservatism.

Agreed! You don't!  But you have, IMHO, failed to recognize that circumstances now are not the same as they were during the campaign.  I still don't care one bit for Trumps personal proclivities but I DO recognize that he IS now the President of the United States and has, thus far at least, withstood the media onslaught very well!

The enjoyment of his treatment of the media is both periforal and emotional, and has no bearing on his qualifications or performance as a President.

I would call your perspective being blinded by the trees of emotion and missing the forest of facts.

Yeah but it needs to an effective rebuttal, not screaming in a press conference like a Jerry Springer guest.

Well..... I read the transcript and watched about half of the video.  At what part did he scream?  I missed it.

That's funny. You seem to be whining about people being snarky on a thread because they didn't go along with your armchair psychiatry.

BTW, still waiting for you to tell me where what Donny was putting in place was bad. I notice you were very vocal on the thread about Donny's Trans bathroom policy when it was rumored he would stick with Obama's plan, but when he came out and voided it, crickets are all that come from you. You should be popping champagne corks over that.

Since you don't consider infantile behavior unpresidential or something he has "done," or have a problem with his ham-handed, mishandled immigration I doubt you'll agree with anything I say, but keep in mind that he was elected, not transformed into a different person.

Eventually his lack of character, maturity and self-control will harm us all.

They have already harmed conservatism.

Maybe! Maybe not!  But I see NOTHING he has actually done so far that has done anything but advance the conservative causes I have been in favor of for a LONG time and never got advanced previously.

Lol! Observing and commenting that people are snarky is no more whining than is observing and mentioning that you can be impolite.

You can't win this argument legitimately, Frank, so I suggest you stop whining about me and continue your impolite attacks on others.

I know you too well to be offended by your bluster.

It is no surprise that a somewhat chaotic business style would continue. His ways of conducting business were discussed at length, during and even after the primaries. Of course, the MSM will emphasize the chaos and minimize any rational order, but that is to be expected with a Republican in office. Nixon committed what sure looked like prejury and obstruction of justice and the Media were after him until the test pattern came on at night and started again with the farm reports. Clinton gets gigged on the same charges (perjury and obstruction of justice) and the media excuse it as being 'just about sex' and minimize it.

The trick is for Trump not to play into the MSM narrative, and to present a less chaotic face to the media. This isn't reality TV, it's the real deal.

Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

I have a different perspective on that. I believe his preadolescent behavior does harm to conservatism.

I did before he was elected and I do now.

As I said before, his position changed, but not his person.

There is one thing that we all  (I think) can/should agree on.  And that one thing is that we want to see the left get their collective @sses kicked good and plenty (about damned time).  Right?  If Trump is the vehicle through which that much-deserved kick is delivered....

that's a good thing.  Right???

It depends. You can't give up your long term values for short term success.

If we cheer the left getting their 'collective asses kicked' in the realm of media and information, but that comes from just swinging the propaganda pendulum far the other direction, where truth, rationalism, and people critically analyzing everything they read and see are replaced by propaganda that just manipulates and reinforces what they want to believe, we haven't won anything other than an emotional, short-term victory.

Our goal shouldn't be 'kicking the collective asses of the left', our goal should be the truth. If it results in kicking their asses, great. If it results in those on the left and right both getting their asses kicked and exposed, just as great if they are both equally causing the problem of degrading the truth.  If the left happens to be right on something, it shouldn't be rejected because they are on the left. If the right happens to be wrong on something, it shouldn't be accepted simply because they are on the right.

This isn't a football game where you root for your team.

This is a quote from an article I posted last night.

Quote
"All of us, liberal, conservative, or otherwise, must be willing to abandon partisan loyalty in favor of logically considering the information presented to us. With photographs, as with all information, audiences should be skeptical. But knowing how to analyze images is critical to the future of our democracy."
