LOL it was kind of an epic beat down but it wouldn't have been so bad if Sanders hadn't taken every opportunity to slap himself around while Ted Cruz rested.

Which we knew would be the case going in!  At least some of us that is!
"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

Is it just me or is CNN being pretty fair, overall?

Yes!  Pretty amazing isn't it!

Or maybe they just took a look at their ratings lately!

Sanders is socialism fixated. The only thing that will ever work is to take money from richer people and give it to bureaucrats.

Sanders cited the Conservative argument that eventually you will run out of other people's money, and then dismissed it by actually saying that we haven't run out yet.

Sanders isn't a socialist.  He is a hardline communist.

If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.

-Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."

Good debate as far as the moderators being fair.  Hard to believe the CNN actually hosted a fair debate.  Sanders is a socialist period.  It was evident throughout the debate that he wants to expand Bammycare and Ted was very quick to accurately point out the ridiculous cost of Bernie's plan.  Ted blew him out of the water as we knew he would.  Perhaps it was just me, but at times Bernie didn't seem to make sense.

Go Ted!    :patriot:

No, it wasn't just you.  I would have had a hard time debating him as some of his comments left me baffled.  I would have had a "what?" look on my face when I should have been answering him.

If Bernie has EVER made sense I missed it!  Can someone provide a link!

Since I didn't watch it, I wonder? Was this a "See America? The candidates you should have had."

There could have been a little bit of that.  But, since I'm an optimist I think it was "the candidate you maybe can have".

@IsailedawayfromFR   I was referring to the fact that every dam debate Trump participated in-the 'online' polls with Trumpbart/Drudge/TOS were skewed as if they, the Trumpsters, were watching something beamed from another galaxy. But, as I and @Right_in_Virginia agrees, it's time to move on.

Maybe can have? They're going to have to dig up The Bern's corpse for that to happen. He's about 108 right now.

Sanders didn't do himself any favors beating up on the audience member. He found out that she owned a few nail salons and he just couldn't help himself.

The only complaint I have is they took four questions from people who essentially asked Cruz the same question - will you commit to keeping the wonderful component of Obamacare that saved my/mykids life? And only one question from someone who is hurt by ACA.

Does anyone know the number of people who don't have insurance because if the ACA? I can't seem to find any data.

Obamacare won't go away.  Best we can hope for is a tweak or 2.  Truth is both parties love Obamacare and the power over life and death it brings.  My guess is that we will see a single-payer, govrtnment-controlled plan.  Which was what was intended by Obamacare all along.

Whatever happens, the core issues with Obamacare will not be resolved and for those who are paying for this mess, while struggling to pay for their own care, their situation will become a lot worse.  Expect to be shouldering a lot more of the burden for freeloaders, as well as for yourself and your family.

I thought it was going to be a debate on Obamacare, with Bernie for it and Cruz against it.  As it turned out, it was a free-market vs single-payer debate.

As an aside, there were a couple of times during the debate where Bernie would continue moving his mouth in the middle of his statements but nothing was coming out.  Very strange -- it looked like a badly-dubbed Japanese monster movie.

Bernie's swaying back and forth like he was a kid who had to run to the bathroom while Ted was speaking was equally annoying.

Bernie wants to expand Obamacare making it into a socialistic program while Cruz wants to shut down Obamacare and implement a plan letting the free markets take over.   I haven't researched if Bernie actually has drafted  his own plan, but I know Cruz has.

Sanders didn't look good attacking a business owner who couldn't afford to insure her employees or herself. No compassion, just tough noogies for the employees she would have to fire to pay for insurance and tough noogies that she can't grow her business.

Cruz showed his typical compassion even for those who falsely claimed they would be dead if not for Obamacare.
