Sessions's nomination clears key Senate hurdle
By Jordain Carney - 02/07/17 12:53 PM EST
Sen. Jeff Sessions's nomination to be attorney general overcame a key hurdle on Tuesday, paving the way for the Senate to confirm the Alabama Republican this week.
Senators voted 52-47 to move forward with Sessions's nomination. Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) was the only Democratic senator to support him.
Absent a deal to yield back debate time, a final vote on Sessions's nomination could occur as late as Wednesday evening.

Great news! Once he's nominated as well as Gorsuch, it's then time to start draining that swamp!

I Believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes. I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies.
