9th Circuit Court declines to quickly reinstate travel ban

A federal appeals court on Sunday ruled that President Trump’s controversial immigration order will remain suspended for the time being, allowing those previously banned from coming to the United States at least another day to get here.

The decision by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit preserves a lower judge’s order to temporarily halt the ban — and based on a schedule the court outlined, the stop will remain in place at least until sometime on Monday. The Justice Department said it would not elevate the dispute to the Supreme Court before that.

Trump responded to the development Sunday by writing on Twitter that he had “instructed Homeland Security to check people coming into our country VERY CAREFULLY.” A Department of Homeland Security spokeswoman did not immediately return messages seeking comment on how, practically, that screening would be implemented.

“Just cannot believe a judge would put our country in such peril,” Trump wrote. “If something happens blame him and court system. People pouring in. Bad!”

The next few days will be telling for the future of the president’s executive order. The appeals court asked those challenging the ban to file written arguments by 4 a.m. Eastern on Monday and asked Justice Department lawyers to reply by 6 p.m. Eastern. They could then schedule a hearing or rule whether the ban should remain on hold.

I find it terribly disturbing that our President has been stopped from curtailing immigrants into this country that he feels would be detrimental to the interests of the United States and to the safety of American citizens; especially since he has the authority to do so.  What is it going to take for people to realize that we could in a very short time be faced with the influx and problems of mass migration into the United States that Europe has experienced?  Perhaps witnessing people getting their heads cut off with chain saws in the US by terrorists will finally convince them ... by then it will by way too late to prevent further assaults on our citizens and the eventual destruction of our country.
I Believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.  I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies.

It also bugs me that these sanctuary states and cities say 'immigration enforcement is the FedGov's problem, not ours,' until they see something they don't like, then flip 180 and say 'oh no, the FedGov and Prez can't enforce immigration like that.'
The Republic is lost.

It IS the Ninth Circuit. Hardly surprising. Maybe the big surprise is they didn't issue this ruling before they were asked to.

The 9th Circuit is as Alt Left as it gets....they will never do anything but oppose Trump. The Constitution is little more than an inconvenience to these folks. Its going to take the Supremes to fix this, and it will need Gorsuch seated to put it over the top at 5-4.
