What, Really, Is the Democratic Party?

I read this rather brilliant short essay by Kevin Williamson in National Review while I was on vacation last week, and am now getting around to writing about it. Williamson takes off from the observation that the Democrats are not making any serious effort to block such Trump nominees as Satan Jeff Sessions, but instead have trained their guns on the seemingly-innocuous Betsy DeVos. His argument is that a familiar slander against the Republican Party may actually be true as applied to the Democrats:

Thats pretty much the definition of the Democrat party, it's goals and membership qualifications.

Question:
What, Really, Is the Democratic Party?

Answer:
These days, a front for the communist party. Really.

Addendum:
In the coming years, watch for it to become a front for islam, as well...

Fifty years ago most Americans of whatever political persuasion agreed on many issues...economic, social, and defense.
Not so  anymore. It is almost impossible to find a Dem who is strong on def., defends traditional morality, believes in free-market capitalism, and is a strong anti-socialist.
To succeed in the mod. version of the Dem Party is to be on-board with all the wacky, leftist initiatives now vomited up by the socialists  masquerading as liberals.

The economic interests attached to the Democratic party are fairly easy to identify: people who work for government at all levels. You may come across the occasional Ron Swanson in the wild, but when it comes to the teachers’ unions — which are the biggest spender in U.S. politics — or the AFSCME gang or the vast majority of people receiving a taxpayer-funded paycheck, the politics of the public sector is almost exclusively Democratic. And what they care about isn’t social justice or inequality or diversity or peace or whether little Johnny can use the ladies’ room if his heart tells him to — they care about getting paid.

Pretty well sums up the Rat party. They have to be terrified right now. If they can't discredit Pres. Trump they will be fighting a POTUS who will do everything in his power to destroy them by cutting off their funding. School choice and eliminating automatic union dues deductions from pay checks destroyed the teachers union in WI. Freezing hiring and instructing dept. heads to cut staffing by 10% along with reforms of the hiring and firing of bureaucrats will diminish the govt employees power.

I think, or hope, that public perception of the public sector is turning negative. It becomes increasingly difficult to see public employees as being dedicated to providing some needed service or dedicated to anything but their own wellbeing. That's a harsh judgment for those who are doing their best but you can't judge millions individually.
