House chairman to sanctuary cities: 'Your money is gone'

The House chairman who oversees Justice Department spending is telling so-called "sanctuary cities" that funding for police, jails and housing will end under President Trump's new executive orders tightening immigration control.

"It's real easy, their money disappears. There's no fight, their money is gone," said Texas Rep. John Culberson, chairman of the appropriations subcommittee that funds Justice.

Culberson last year forced the Obama administration to warn several sanctuary cities and jurisdictions about the funding cut off. In an interview for Sunday's Full Measure With Sharyl Attkisson, he said that Trump's new order covers all 300 of the sanctuaries.

"They are in violation of federal law because federal law requires state and local jurisdictions can't interfere in any way with sharing information about criminal illegal aliens in their custody; in any way means you must cooperate 100 percent of the time — 99 out of 100 of sharing information is not enough," he told the news magazine show.

Good to see Congress moving to advance this good part of the Trump agenda.

I can't believe the Rats are so stupid, but they are. In their world they believe they will have the support of American citizens in not turning over criminals for deportation.

The only chance that illegal aliens, who have not committed crimes other than entering the USA illegally,  have for gaining permanent residency is to first have all the career criminals deported, the wall built and the visa system tightened up and enforced. After these things are done I would bet the American people are willing to find a solution. Pres. Trump is moving on the first part and the Rats are making sure they are so marginalized, by being the party of illegal alien career criminals, that when it comes time to deal with the second part they won't have any input.

One is currently making excuses for importing Muslims and also on another thread decrying immigrants not being put ahead of current Americans in the Bennie line. The other one hasn't been around for a few hours.

Give it time.

You'd think Aiding and abetting illegals, and helping mainstream Sharia by importing more of it would be a reward unto itself. Some people are just greedy I guess. They want ALL the leftism.

Gov. of Texas Abbott interviewed on Levin radio today, said he would sign a measure to arrest officials, that fail to comply with sanctuary city ban.

We're at the crossroads now. IMO this is the acid test.

YES!  This is exactly what needs to happen.   Someone should inform them that they don't get to secede from the Union.   So long as they are part of it,  they will D@mn well enforce the laws,  or be held to account for not doing so.
