Oh my. They are dumping on the Donald there. Big League.

For all we know from the pic it could have been taken two weeks ago.

Just sayin...

He wasn't President 2 weeks ago. You think Obama was letting him loiter around the WH grounds with some bikers?

Trump is someone's who does what he wants to whether it's good for him or not.

If he wanted a photo of in front of the WH before he was sworn in by God he'd have had the pic snapped.

All those bikers that went to DC recently may not like that.

Could be a switch to a non-American bike instead.

What... and put America second?

People who work at Harley say they were not the ones that cancelled this. It was Trump's idea. Spicer made a statement in his press conference today.

"Q    Okay.  And then the second question was, you mentioned tomorrow the meeting with the Harley Davidson executives.  There's reporting that he was supposed to go to Milwaukee tomorrow or he was supposed to.  That was canceled because of the company.  Can you talk about that?

MR. SPICER:  I just think -- look, it was easier for the executives to come here, considering the week and all of the activity that's been going on.  And we figured the easiest thing to do was -- again, no decision had been made about or announced as to what we were doing.  We looked at different options and, ultimately, the easiest thing to do in accordance with the President's schedule was to invite them here to Washington to talk about some of the stuff that we've been doing."

Although Spicer said it wasn't because of the protests my guess is that there was either a security concern and/or Trump didn't want the optics of protestors. He has a thin skin. Perhaps security didn't think they could provide adequate protection for the President with the protest threats.

If HD had cancelled it Trump would have been on Twitter already bad mouthing them and bringing their stock down.

I just downloaded a copy and it says 02/03/2016.

Actually, it said yesterday when I downloaded it, but I changed it.

It's not the file properties. Those change. Exif is actually embedded in the picture.

I use a free viewing tool (available here) to check any news photos I'm a touch dubious about or the legitimacy of which is called into question.

Yes, Exif data can be manipulated. This shows in various ways. It can be stripped out completely, too. But it's a good way to quickly check if a picture is when it purports to be.

I find it a somewhat interesting story simply because of the contrast.  Milwaukee is a really, really liberal city in a liberal state.  For decades its population would grow steadily because welfare recipients from Chicago would relocate an hour up the interstate simply because the benefits in Wisconsin were better.  They were simply taking their poverty to the highest bidder.

Now most Harley riders are not exactly the types to offer up their souls to the highest bidder.  Quite the opposite.  So if you're a fly on the wall at the Harley Davidson conference room you would have overheard an interesting debate among executives on a lose/lose situation.

Do we want to piss off the blue collar workers and poor people of Milwaukee, or should we piss off our customers instead?

No offense...but these days Rush is hardly one to snort...chortle or make fun of fake news.

He has zero credibility anymore.

The "fake news" thing is little more than an increasingly obvious propaganda tool straight out of the Trump administration.

Its wildly overused like calling people racist for wanting to control our borders.

Uh oh, this will bring outrage from the millions of bikers for Trump who are so numerous that they have to use stolen pics from Sturgis and Rolling thunder to promote themselves.

Why? There's Indian and Polaris, just for a couple of marques yet.

Here are 15 American Motorcycle companies: http://usamadeproducts.biz/vehicles-motorcycles.html (of which Harley Davidson is one).

Honestly I could care less either way about the photo and it has nothing to do with the false perception I hate Trump.

I simply asked a though provoking question.

Same question all of the people who believe Trump could do no wrong would ask had the picture put him in a bad light.

That's a shame. I really admired them for not joining the protest and refusing to take passengers at BWI the other night like the cabbies and Lyft drivers did.

It's a limited time ban. It was botched because it had Bannon's greasy fried chicken finger stains all over it, but it's not really anything too onerous.

I don't think it has as much to do with that single issue as it has to do with a whole lot of issues. I suspect that they're figuring out pretty quickly that Trump isn't interested in any input from the advisory council and I expect many more will follow.

What I don't like are stories that begin with a screaming, sensational headline, but the story itself doesn't match the headline.

Many news outlets and websites, even the supposed mainstream media, do this.  They know that many people have short attention spans.  They just read the headline and don't bother reading the whole story.

And beware of unsupported "facts" and allegations that come from unreliable sources or often, no sources at all.

We saw that all through the election, too. It's false advertising in a way, to get you to click their link or buy their publication, but even worse, it misleads the segment of the population with a false or unsupported assertion which becomes incorporated into Conventional Wisdom on the topic. The Left are masters at the technique, and unfortunately they have no monopoly on it.
