Goldberg is ignoring that there is a decades-long history of leftist goons shutting down conservative speakers on campuses. Even guys as milquetoast as Michael Medved have had their speeches disrupted. And those aren't speakers who are trying to deliberately provoke anyone. But for the most part, the response to suppression of dissent that has been nonexistent. Conservatives have just accepted that we can't have our views heard on some campuses. There was absolutely no chance of that getting better because we had pretty much just accepted it. And it was sufficiently low-profile that the vast majority of Americans were unaware of it
To me, that is intolerable
Milo's goal is to highlight to the great mass of the American people the violent intolerance of the left so as to provoke a response by the American people. He puts it on the front page, and now, people who weren't previously aware of the suppression of conservative speech are now being made aware of what has been happening on a much smaller scale in colleges around the country. The issue of dissenting views being silenced on campuses is finally getting national intention.
Exposing the intolerance of the left is a very, very good thing. It means we've started fighting back.
