On this vote.

There are many other votes on which I'm glad for their support.

And on balance, on many they were buried neck deep in the left and running over anyone in their way to the TV cameras to badmouth/slander/propagandize and anything else they could do to harm conservatives or a conservative policy/position.

They are a cancer in the body politic.

Yeah, just send 'em all to religious schools.   That's the ticket for avoiding ignorance.

As opposed to the leftist indoctrination now? Sounds good to me. Public schools educated every snowflake in America.

Repeat after me:

"We must re/elect any Republican no matter what. No matter how leftist their record. No matter how many times they side with democrats in the past. Because keeping liberals in office is the conservative thing to do. No matter what."

The fact of the matter is Norm - the vast majority of the country is to the Left of center.

They get the rulers they want and the oppression they are comfortable with.

You and I are a horrifying minority in the Constitutional/Liberty/Religious heritage department.

When the people give way, their deceivers, betrayers and destroyers press upon them so fast that there is no resisting afterwards. The nature of the encroachment upon [the] American constitution is such, as to grow every day more and more encroaching. I've got my grandmother's high school civics textbook from the 1930s. Its a wonder we didn't become a socialist nation decades earlier than we did.

I didn't know we were supposed to be pro-establishment insider and pro-common core now.

We are to be whatever Trump fashions himself and whomever and whatever HE wants.

That is the right all Dear Leaders expect of their subjects.

Careful there.  To way too many Trump supporters, anti-Trump is by definition traitorous.

I was just sticking up for him!

It's all about beating Hillary, doncha know?
How to lose credibility while posting:
1. Trump is never wrong.
2. Default to the most puerile emoticon you can find. This is especially useful when you can't win an argument on merits.
3. Be falsely ingratiating, completely but politely dismissive without talking to the points, and bring up Hillary whenever the conversation is really about conservatism.
4. When all else fails, remember rule #1 and #2. Emoticons are like the poor man's tweet!

I had pretty much the exact same concerns about John Roberts when he was being portrayed as the second coming of William Rehnquist.

He wasn't.

and the betrayal is coming again, they'll moan and whine "nobody warned us!"

That means Mike Pence gets to break the tie.
Only if Sessions is still there to vote.  Could be a trick to get his confirmation.

Oh, Of that I am painfully aware.

I would however say that now, the vast majority of self professed 'conservatives' are left of center, much less the country. So be it. Actions have consequences and they will either learn from their mistakes or suffer because of them. I wish the rest of us were exempt from their actions though.

Yes, Murkowski beat Miller as a write-in, it was very tight, he made some mistakes and Sarah or the Tea party couldn't save him, many suggest it was rigged against him by the 'big money, status quo' (Stevens of 'bridge to nowhere' fame) in Alaska and this was before they could smoke dope legally.
Besides Tennessee, I've always felt Alaska closest to Texas, politically, just my opinion @Frank Cannon , don't roast me.

If you R E A D your post a certain way, it looks like you were R O A S T I N G folks who supported Miller. Lisa's write in was about as shady as it gets considering she was fully rejected in a Primary and M A G I C A L L Y won a General write in.

It is really sad how liberal women are in the Senate.

2 of 5 GOP women Senators decide to go against core values of conservatism.

I know I will take flak, but women just do not generally make good conservatives in politics.

Of course there are exceptions, but really look at what has come across so far, and the % of women in Congress as a whole that have been conservative.

Looks like the GOP finally got what they admired most about the democrats, a blindly obedient base that doesn't trouble themselves with any of that pesky thinking crap.

You should have seen the rage I inspired on twitter this morning when I asked if anyone knows where Neil Gorsuch stands on things like federalism, campaign finance or eminent domain. I didn't get any answers but I was accused of being a traitor among other things.  :silly:

I suspect most conservatives assumed that given who helped Trump compile the list, the almost universal praise for everyone on that list prior to the announcement, and the massive support Gorsuch has gotten from well-known constitutional conservatives like Cruz, that Gorsuch is an excellent choice.  Sometimes, it's better to rely on the opinions of respected people who have a lot more knowledge than you do about a subject rather than to form your own opinions based on a weak understanding of the actual facts.

My point is the people objecting to you likely thought it was because you didn't like him because he was conservative, or simply because it was Trump who nominated him.
