Dershowitz: Acting AG Made 'Serious Mistake' Defying Trump Order

Acting Attorney General Sally Yates made a "serious mistake" Monday when she told Justice Department lawyers not to defend President Donald Trump's executive order temporarily banning people from seven majority-Muslim countries, emeritus Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz said.

Yates, an appointee of former President Barack Obama, is engaging in "holdover heroism," Dershowitz told CNN's Erin Burnett.

"It's so easy to be a heroine when you're not appointed by this president, and when you're on the other side," he said. "She made a serious mistake."

20 years ago Alan Dershowitz was considered pretty far left.  He hasn't changed much in the past 20 years but the liberal landscape around him surely has changed dramatically.

IMHO he's still very Liberal...but he's at least honest enough to call his side out when they do stupid things and praise a brilliant student regardless of his political leaning.

And for that the Progressives in his own party will excoriate him.

30 years ago Nancy Pelosi was so fringe she was laughed at by members of her own party - now she leads it.
