I know the honeymoon period will be over soon and I'll be bitching about some of Trump's policies. But for the time being I'll just enjoy watching the Left stew in their own juices a bit longer.
Big picture wise I'll be paying attention to Additions and Subtractions.
Additions are new (or revised) policies that keep Big Government big. Subtractions wipe out old policies and make them vanish like a fart in the wind. I'm of the opinion that policy, any policy, is the enemy of Main Street America. The federal government should stick to that small handful of things that may only be effectively controlled on a national basis, such as the military.
Policies and regulations should come with an expiration date. “There is nothing more permanent than a temporary government program.” - Ronald Reagan. Yet thousands of new policies and regulations stack up every year to sit on top of the bazillion old policies and regulations established over the past 100 years. They should all die a natural death unless they are specifically renewed.
I'll be keeping a close eye on Additions and Subtractions.
