Trump White House vows it won’t coddle ‘the rioter, the looter, or the violent disrupter’
By Matt Zapotosky January 20

On the campaign trail, Donald Trump cast himself as a law-and-order candidate who would always have the backs of local police, though he wouldn’t meddle in their affairs. On Friday, the White House website revealed that promise would be a pillar of his administration.

Under the heading, “Standing Up For Our Law Enforcement Community,” the Trump administration promised a reduction in violent crime, a border wall to keep out illegal immigrants and “more law enforcement, more community engagement, and more effective policing.” The administration hinted at a crackdown on protests — “Our job is not to make life more comfortable for the rioter, the looter, or the violent disrupter,” it said.

I like it.   Should add to the list community organizers of said disruptions.

Those crimes are under other jurisdiction unless they happen on federal property and even then they're generally handled locally.

And to those that know this... his statement basically means he will try to federalize all state/local police forces.

Jurisdiction on federal property isn't always clear cut either. A guy shoved his wife off a cliff at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore a few years back. The feds looked at it but Michigan tried the case.

At the very least, I hope this means Trump will not overtly or indirectly endorse Black Lives Matter and other anarchists as his predecessor did.

Or perhaps it means he will nominate judges who will enforce all the laws, not only the ones that suit them, or who will follow the Constitution, as written, not interpret the Constitution to fit their agenda or throw out the Constitution and make up their own laws.

Maybe this will extend to the Justice Department.  Enforce the law for everyone, not just for a few.  And not spend their time and energy looking for racism under every rock, but actually do the job the department was meant to do.

Not necessarily.  If you consider the possibility of some sort of centralized planning and organizing for protests that turn violent, a federal RICO investigation wouldn't be out of line.
