State Department Held Stress Workshops After Trump’s Win
Posted By Elizabeth Harrington On January 16, 2017 @ 3:15 pm In Politics | No Comments

The State Department held stress management sessions following Donald Trump’s presidential election victory, providing employees tips for how to cope with change so they do not “become paralyzed by fear.”

The workshops, titled “The Emotional Transition: Managing the Stress of Change,” were held by the State Department’s Bureau of Medical Services on Dec. 8 and 14, just one month after the department’s former boss, Hillary Clinton, was defeated.

That didn't happen at NASA.  We had a note from the director about continuing our mission, and a management email cautioning employees about the distraction of the election causing safety issues.

Seems that engineers are expected to deal with life's challenges like adults.

If all I want is a warm feeling, I should just wet my pants.

I realize that no one here has the courage to question Trumpist doctrine but I don't see anything that indicates that this really has anything to do with Trump. Its idiotic that federal agencies have been doing this kind of crap for 30 years. Choosing to make it about dealing with change makes perfect sense as any new administration comes in.  I have no doubt they would have done the same had Bernie Sanders won the election.

My cousin's wife is a postal worker and says they have several workshops on how to cope with this or that minor irritation several times per year. She says most people use it for paid nap time. 40 years ago when my mother worked for Head Start she spent as much time in workshops as she did on the job. My mother is the one who showed me the parasite that lives in the gut of the bureaucratic leech. There is a whole industry out there that does this stuff and feeds off the bureaucratic leech.

Its why the IRS was caught blowing huge sums of money on Vegas "seminars". They had either hired outside entities to "increase productivity" or had put these clowns on the payroll. Lots of the private sector is infected as well. The last factory I worked in had a "conflict resolution specialist" in the "human resources" department and my job was repackaged from foreman to "Process Technician" (Now don't I feel better about being an important part of the team?)

Good, somebody has to.
“The way I see it, every time a man gets up in the morning he starts his life over. Sure, the bills are there to pay, and the job is there to do, but you don't have to stay in a pattern. You can always start over, saddle a fresh horse and take another trail.” ― Louis L'Amour
