If you say 3/4s of the state legislatures would agree to gut the Bill of Rights, a) you're looney

Gutting?  No.  Yet I could easily see 3/4 of state legislatures making changes to any of the first ten Amendments.

and b) if you're right, the country is already lost.

The country is lost.  The country is almost $20 trillion in debt with unfunded (promised) liabilities in the hundreds of trillions of dollars, and no one gives a damn.  And now we have elected a leader who shows as much contempt if not more for the Constitution than did his predecessor.

Lost?  Hell yes, it's lost.  What is the point of changing the Constitution when we don't follow it now?
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.

Exactly. That's the whole point of convening an Article V Convention, which is in essence one of the very last 'circuit breakers' put into the Constitution when things have gone terribly wrong.  The Convention is to amend the Constitution to restore and return power to the States and to limit or strip power from the Feds. What other choice do we really have?? We are out of options.

First of all it's our State legislators that would be convening, not individual citizenry.  Proposition, voting and acceptance of amendments to the Constitution would be by two-thirds of the state legislatures

Two-thirds of State legislatures would be required to call a convention.  But only at the convention would amendments be proposed.  After that, three-fourths of state legislatures (or state conventions) would be required for passage.

Howdat?  Do you really think that they could get a 3/4 vote on boneheaded amendments?

See:  Amendment XVII

This is the biggest bonehead move by three-fourths of state legislatures in US history.  States legislatures voting to give up their right to representation in our bicameral legislature.

Again, if the Constitution is being ignored now, what makes you think it won't be ignored once it is amended?  The problem isn't the Constitution.  The problem is the people.  Fredrich Hayek wrote a book about it.

If the country is already lost (and from your posts you don't think it's recoverable) why are you opposed to an Article V convention?  By your beliefs, it wouldn't make any difference.  Yet you're adamantly against any attempt to fix our problems.  That makes no sense at all.

2) It's none of your business.

Again those convening and participating in an Article V Convention are state legislators and the purpose is to return the power to the states, taking away the power from the Feds.  The primary problem isn't with the people, the problem is the overreach and corruption in DC.  In essence "we the people" are the government and the power belongs to us not the other way around! The RIGHTS under the Constitution of the United STATES of America belongs to us.

The majority leader from Kentucky, yeah, the one without male anatomical attributes, will not let it come to a vote.

That is exactly why the timing for a Convention of States is now.

This is one of the proposals currently being discussed by the Convention of States. Many people disagree with a convention. Ted Cruz proposes it and watch the  Article V naysayers climb on board with Ted.

IF Trump starts taking some latitude and side stepping Congress and making questionable "deals" or ignoring the advice of his advisors (as I fear), we may have no other choice. I think you will see people urging their legislators to call for an Article V Convention.  I hope I am wrong.
