Ordinarily, it certainly might be.

But consider who the "sitting president" is, and also consider what he's trying to do.

In view of those realities, Trump is acting wisely with an eye on the future.

Looks like Reagan finally put his vest on. I'm sure that was a fight.
You cannot "COEXIST" with people who want to kill you.
If they kill their own with no conscience, there is nothing to stop them from killing you.
Rational fear and anger at vicious murderous Islamic terrorists is the same as irrational antisemitism, according to the Leftists.

Even Trump supporters like former congressman Joe Walsh are saying that and Trump better not count on congress to protect himself from his own stupidity and arrogance.

Od you have a link to that? I saw Walsh's statements on the Russian hacking deal but not about this latest stuff from Trump.

My congressman told me that the vast majority of congress supports investigating what Russia was up to which might be why Walsh is now saying this.

Trump really is the new Churchill Reagan.

You've got to get along and avoid war these days.

Pence, Mattis are no Russia lovers.

Blame the anti-Romneys for a strong Russia;  Mitt analyzed the situation correctly.

Maybe Putin deserves a positive word for not escalating tensions which Obama clearly wanted to do and who knows what else is in store.

'An incredible chess move': Putin checkmates Obama after symbolic sanctions manoeuvre
Obama ordered expulsion of diplomats, Putin invited U.S. children to New Year's party
CBC Canada, Dec 31, 2016, Mark Gollom

It was one of the most brilliant geopolitical chess moves in over a decade, and it involved doing nothing, according to Eurasia senior analyst Lauren Goodrich.

An expert on Russian politics at the intelligence firm Stratfor, Goodrich was referring to Russian President Vladimir Putin's response, or lack thereof, to the recent sanctions imposed on his country by U.S. President Barack Obama,

Instead of retaliating for Obama's order Thursday to expel 35 Russian diplomats and close down two Russian compounds, Putin insisted he would not reciprocate.

And, for good measure, he invited the children of U.S. diplomats accredited in Russia to the New Year's and Christmas parties in the Kremlin.

"Putin deciding not to retaliate and say I'm going to wait for the Trump administration, delegitimizes Obama's decision on one side and then also puts extra pressure on Trump to act more conciliatory when he comes in," said Goodrich.

"It's an incredible chess move."
