Former FBI Director Louis Freeh supports President-elect Donald Trump’s selection of Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) as America’s next attorney general, according to a new report.
Freeh, who was appointed by former President Bill Clinton, sent a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee giving his “strong recommendation” Sessions receive the role, ABC News said Wednesday.
“I have known Jeff since 1989 when we worked together as prosecutors on one of the most important civil rights cases investigated and prosecuted by the United States Department of Justice,” he wrote in a Tuesday letter.
